This's a real cart running on a regular snes:

This cart started out as a gsu 2 doom cart. I converted the rom to a starfox eprom and overclocked it to 44 mhz. At 48 mhz the game glitches and crashes, but 44 it's perfectly fine. The original clock speed is 21.4 mhz.
Starfox overclocked version 4

Pretty neat. The decreased lag though makes it look a lot tougher.

I like seeing the different mods you do Drakon. They're usually pretty interesting.

Yeah it's faster but you can learn it just need to get used to the speed. That's why I cleared route 3 in this playthrough to prove that it's still possible to play.Xeogred wrote:Pretty neat. The decreased lag though makes it look a lot tougher.

It runs very smooth and for the first time I can clearly see those robots carrying polygons and basically see what the hell is going on. Amazing. If only it was like this when it came out.
If I find a time machine I am going to kick you in it and send you back to 1991 to make Starfox and SF2CE better.

It seems like it makes the boss fights much easier due to the (apparent) increase in your fire rate. I don't think it makes the game any more difficult, since you have to memorize the level layouts anyway.
I'm also not sure how people execute constant, flawless barrel rolls. Turbo button? Is it just easier to do when the game isn't running choppy?

I'm using a standard super famicom controller. The way I play is whenever I press fire I also press L or R. Since I fire pretty constantly it sends me into constant barrel rolls too. You'll notice I fire faster when I'm trying to pull off a timed barrel roll. Trying to use the fire and barrel roll buttons independently is too much to focus on.Zing wrote:It seems like it makes the boss fights much easier due to the (apparent) increase in your fire rate. I wouldn't call the game "eaiser" or "harder" it's just faster. Everything is faster, both you and the opponents.
