My Visual Pinball Build

Post by girlracer »

This is my mini visual pinball, it consist of a 17" lcd for the top screen and a 24" lcd for the playfield. This is really my first time building something of this nature other than building a control panel for my mame cocktail. I've got it all wired, just haven't got the software up and running.

I do actually own a full size pinball but this build was just project for me, I really don't know were I will put it in the house as my arcade room is quite full.

OMG this is amazing! How is the visual pinball software? I always wondered if it was good enough to justify building something like this...

That's really awesome.

Not to detract from it, but that 40-50 year old looking AC unit is pretty intriguing too.

How does your plunger interface with the computer?

well i don't have the software up and running, but my idea was to have the plunger end up against one of the micro switches so when its pulled back and let go it hits the micro switch thats hooked up to the ipac and acts as the button that shoots the ball.

so the software isn't set up for force feedback/velocity-based launching? That would seem an important element of most pinball machines...
