I don't know the exact sales figures, but I do know I've only ever seen it once in a used videogame store. That's the copy I own now.

Nintendo Systems:
NES: Puzznic, Jimmy Connor Tennis, Bible Buffet, Venice Beach Volleyball, Galaxy 5000, Hatris, Fire 'n Ice, Deathbots, Color a Dinosaur, Wally Bear and the NO! Gang, Jungle Book, Tetris (Tengen), Pac-Mania, Sunday Funday, Qix
SNES: Bebe's Kids
N64: Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth, Woms: Armageddon, Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Caliber
GB: Boxxle II
GBC: Shantae

Sega Systems
SMS: King's Quest, Slap Shot
GEN: Aerobiz: Supersonic
SAT: Panzer Dragoon Saga
DC: Worms World Party

Sony Systems
PS1: RayStorm, Shanghai: True Valor, X-Com: UFO Defense, Spot Goes to Hollywood, Silverload, Herc's Adventure, Motor Toon Grand Prix

Interesting how rare doesn't always equate expensive. For instance, Dragon Quest IV on NES is worth much more than Wally Bear and the NO! Gang (which has been collecting dust in the Video Game Exchange for about a year haha).

Apparently it is quite rare...Digital Press's rarity guide rates it a 7 on its 1-10 scarcity scale. This means that it is as rare as games like Motor Toon Grand Prix, X-COM, Braindead 13, and Silverload, among others. Only a few standard releases, such as Fox Hunt, Team Buddies, and Psychic Detective are rarer.

I recently came into possession of a very scratched, disc only copy of Team Buddies. And I love it. :D

Awesome. Great find. I have heard that Team Buddies is a great game. It is very high on my "want" list, but I have never seen a copy in the wild. (Given its rarity, it is unlikely that I ever will...although...I have found two copies of Shantae in the wild; so, nothing is impossible.)

It is SUCH a great game! So unique. It very quickly knocked all my Summer Challenge games from my go to spot. I keep trying to have friends over to play with 4 players. It's super hectic and super fun.

Getting it was quite the team effort for me (appropriately involving a couple buddies). I'd really wanted it ever since I read about it in the guides on this site about a year ago. It had such a weird name and premise that my roommates remembered the name and really wanted to help me find it. So out of the blue one of my roommates sent me the link to a Craigslist ad in Santa Cruz that had Team Buddies AND Tomba! And I just so happened to be visiting my other roommate about an hour away that weekend so I emailed the guy and we drove out and got it that weekend. Tomba's really great too, but I haven't gotten to spend too much time with it yet. But Team Buddies is awesome! The guy I got if from clearly didn't take too good of care of his stuff though. Almost all the games in the lot were disc only in a binder, full of scratches. Team Buddies even seems to have candle wax or something on the bottom, and I'm scared to try to take it off. The game skips and freezes during cutscenes and the audio's really messed up, but thankfully the actual game plays fine. I'm just thrilled I get to play such a rare gem without forking over 100 dollars or more!
