Resident eil is one that was remade and honestly it was the best remake ever! It was true to the original but still added so much extra that it felt like the same yet entirely new at the same time.

That being said I like the original better cause for me the graphics and music and overall feel of the game was isolating and creepy but the remake was still amazing.

Speaking of i have not been a fan of resident evil since 4 which i know everyone loves but for me it killed the game and is not what re was meant to be. That being said by itseilf was not a bad game at all and much better then 5 which im not even gonna start on that piece of shit.

I saw re6 e3 trailer and even though zombies are back it's still over the shoulder shooter bullshit so i dont know what to think....Ill stick to 1-code veronica and revolations

The way I see it, HD releases are ports. All they do is take a game that was on another platform and put it on a new one, sometimes adding new content.

A remake is rebuilding a game from the ground up, also sometimes adding content.
Insert clever quote here.

I think remakes should add or change something besides just graphics/sound. I don't even really consider stuff like Super Mario All-Stars to be remakes.

I am talking about the SNES one, actually. I don't think enhanced graphics is enough for a game to be a remake to me.

Every game in the collection runs on the SMW engine rather than whatever it used originally. That makes a bit of a gameplay difference.

That's... kinda interesting. I know people have complained about the physics in SMB-1 being kinda 'off'. That'd probably explain it.

I don't know, like I said I just think there should be some new content, or that things should be different in some way to make it a bit more of a new, unique experience.

I usually just call them cash cows. :p Don't really think of them as either remakes or remasters.

I also agree And really i only noticed enhancements on mario 1 and 3 but maby that's just me. When i got all -stars I did cause it was nice to have all of them on one game plus mario world and lost levels which irritates me to no end!
