You know, you had me a little scared there for a while. I thought the whole thing was going to end on some really annoying cliffhanger, but it ended up being a lot better than I expected. But I do agree with you. I think ten more minutes of air time would have given us something a lot more concrete. But then, Bebop did something very similar and I love that show, so I guess I really can't complain too much.Xeogred wrote:Always liked Trigun a bit more than Bebop myself back in the early AS days. It gets really awesome in the second half, just know ahead of time that... it's not very conclusive. But alas that's not uncommon with a lot of ~25 episode anime shows out there.

Finished watching Trigun last night. I really enjoyed it. I got the same sort of feeling watching it as I did when I watched Cowboy Bebop for the first time. Made me feel really nostalgic

I have not played it yet but I would love too! I'm going to try to get my hands on it one of these daysZenErik wrote:Have you played the visual novel? That is the original source. Yup, the only difference is that Trigun has a manga that continues the story. I don't think Bebop does... it's just a shame the Trigun anime only covered a little bit.Michi wrote:Finished watching Trigun last night. I really enjoyed it. I think I'm gonna rewatch both myself here pretty soon, definitely going to be nostalgic!

After 2 episodes I am already going to say that Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita could go down as one of my all time favorite anime.

I just watched the bread scene on Youtube. I am now awaiting an English dub of the series.ZenErik wrote:After 2 episodes I am already going to say that Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita could go down as one of my all time favorite anime.

The Cowboy Bebop mangas are just spin-offs of the series that came after the anime. I haven't read them but I've never heard anything good about them.Xeogred wrote:I don't think Bebop does... it's just a shame the Trigun anime only covered a little bit.

Yeah, it is a shame. But like you said before, it's not uncommon for a series with only 20-some-odd episodes. The more I think about it, the more I wish that they'd cut back on some of the goofiness of the first half of the show, and instead narrowed their focus like they did in the second half. Not that I didn't find the first half enjoyable. I just think the second half sort of blows it out of the water.Xeogred wrote:Yup, the only difference is that Trigun has a manga that continues the story. I read the first volume of the spinoff manga and its nothing to write home about.
I find that mangas that come out after an anime tend to be this way.
Bebop did have a very fun movie though. I know people that didnt like the show but still enjoyed Knocking on Heaven's Door.

I think that movie actually was meant to be an episode in the main series. It wasn't really a spinoff (and yes, it was awesome).
