seems very inconsistent on Sat, speed-wise. You start off with what feels like slowdown and get sudden burts of what I assume is the correct speed. It's weird.mjmjr25 wrote: I've always heard the SAT-J version of In the Hunt (Katai Daisensou) plays smoother than the PSX and SAT-US version, no first hand knowledge though.
BTW, when I asked about underwater shmups, I didn't mean just underwater levels, but full underwater games.

i actually i heard that the pal version of in the hunt fixed the slow down, but apparently its very rare and expensive

Seriously, we need a score thread for these games. My computer is incapacitated or I'd do it myself.EllertMichael wrote:I'm playing it on the Raiden Fighters Aces port for the 360.
It's got some pretty badass music.
I also appreciated the fact they made a TATE version of the title screen (the screen where you have to press start button to get into the menus)
It's not in TATE when you first start the game, but if you enter the game and then back all the way out you'll see it. I don't think any of the CAVE ports even have that

I'm pretty sure foxhound22 has a Raiden thread, not sure which Raiden game though.
Maybe Chaz or Fox will start another for Raiden II or something.

I don't think so, unless the Hi-Score index is out of date. I'm all for an amalgated Raiden thread; I could use some competition on III.

Re: What shmup are you playing now?
fox started a thread on the first Raiden. Not every thread has been added to the master list. However, I'm strongly in favor of seperate lists for seperate games. IE: Raiden is a different game than Raiden III and should have 2 threads. I can't imagine how confusing it would be for those updating the scores in the OP to keep straight if someone is posting for I or III y'know?

Yeah, I would be down for a Raiden II or Raiden III thread.
I agree that most games should be seperate. Some games don't get enough love to get 2 seperate boards though. Like, if we started playing Image Fight, and someone wanted to post scores for Image Fight II, I woud just add it to the Image Fight thread, as very few people would post scores for IF2, making it pretty easy to keep track of both games.
Ususally, on shmups, its done like this:
Image Fight:
Dunpeal2064 - 543,576 - Stage 5 - MAME
So that we can tell what game the score is for. We use the same method to determain alternate game modes, like Deathsmiles 1.1 or something.
As for what shmup I've been playing, I've been working on Dragon Blaze, and getting red in the face at how retarded random stage order is. I've also been playing some X-Multiply on the Saturn. Thats one gorgeous shooter.
