That's what my Hastings is like. They have a clearance rack, but the only system I ever see good games for there is 360 (the one major console I don't own). PS3 is all music games, and the DS games are for little girls and people who don't realize licensed games suck.Michi wrote:: KMart ad said that their clearance games were an extra 25% off
: All they had on clearance were Rock Band games

Smile: Should have a good day at work today.
Frown: Unfortunately due to several things, I'm basically locked into the job till the 17th of August. Not ideal for me. At least I'll have an awesome car in a week as a result though.

Smile: It's my birthday! Whoo-hoo!
Smile Again: I was a guest on the Snackbar Games podcast the other night; I had a lot of fun doing that.
Frown: Still working out the complications with my birthday present that got lost in the mail.

Happy birthday to you and General_Norris.lisalover1 wrote:Smile: It's my birthday! Whoo-hoo!

Happy happy Norris, and nice subtle self promotion.
Smile: My parents are visiting this weekend, and I'm taking a few vacation days to clean around the house and work on the yard.
Frown: Half way through mowing the front yard, rain storm. Took a shower to see all the clouds are gone.
Smile/frown: My wife wants to frame the mirror in the second floor guest bathroom. She also wants me to do all the work, and I don't own a miter saw.
What I've read so far is that it is a fairly simple process of using an epoxy, some measuring, and essentially gluing on boards to the mirror. So far it looks like a cheap and quick way to class up a mirror.

As for the mirror, do you have either a router (table preferred, possible with portable though) or a table saw w/dado blade?
If you do, the mirror encasement will be cake - 4 stiles of your design choosing, mitered at 45 (don't need a miter saw for this, a million ways to get a proper 45), the inside lengths cut to mirror length with the miters extending outward of course, use a table saw or router to outcut a groove to secure the mirror, slide 'em on halfway, one at a time, glue up the edges, and push in the rest of the way
If you don't, you'll have use a layered wood design that creates a "stop", and then rest the mirror on that stop, shouldn't need adhesive, but if you do, go thin toward the inside corner of the back joint. I'd recommend no adhesive, but rather a brad nail or staple every couple inches that you can bend in to secure the mirror after laying it in.

Have neither. I'm still new to the "I have to fix every damn thing" game that comes with owning a house. My Father and Mother are visiting over the weekend, and they are bringing a mitre saw.
I agree with using brads (I copied your post into word and printed it) and although I'd rather hang the frame then glue it on, she insists on liquid nails.
In positive news, I upgraded my toilet. New seat, new hoses, new pump, and new handle. It actually really makes the bathroom look a lot better, and it is a cheap fix.
Now to tackle hopefully (depending on what's beneath the current sink) replacing a bulking sink with a pedestal sink. Woul free up a lot of room.
Thanks again Mike. Wife is quite stubborn though.
