I bought an N64

Post by Ack »

Hey guys, I just bought a Nintendo 64 off eBay. With shipping and the optional insurance included, it cost me right under $30.00. An original controller, composite cable, power cable, and rumble pack were included in the bundle. I tried shopping around as best I could, but I want to know...did I get a good deal?

And for the record, I do own a few N64 games already. I've got GoldenEye, Turok 2, 1080, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time sitting at home with me. I'd have bought a Sega Saturn or a Dreamcast, but all the folks selling them really didn't want to let one go for cheap, so...yeah.

I got an NTSC transparent green N64 (with memory pack) about 6 months ago with 6 (crappy) games, the only good ones it had was bust a move and donkey kong 64 (which I already have pal BNIB) and 2 controllers. That cost me £20 ($40~). So I guess you got a fair deal depending on how good condition it is.

i do not know how you look into things, but how
a $30 for a working 64 is not good?

thats like a console for the price of 3 N64 virtual console games.
or a console for half the price of a new game for 360 or ps3!

I got 64 recently from a friend, I don't recall playing this system much, I didnt own it
i hardly have memories of it other than its like the only console i wanted.

I am currently playing 360-original xbox games. And in between I play 64 and it gives me all the fun
the other systems are giving me if not more. Banjo kazooie, mario 64, zelda, wrestling games, 007...
all are fantastic and the graphics due please me. They are not sharpd and HD, but the art direction is beautiful.

$30 is a little amount for many things, and in a lot of places its a price of a meal!

If you are going to go into perceived value of things. $30 could probably feed a very poor African family for a couple of weeks if not longer...

Put it this way I can get a GC used for £12 with all cables and a controller. That's around $25 by the way.

$30 is a fair deal for a console only deal. I'm saying I got 6 games and 2 controllers extra for only $10 more. So it's not the best bargain in the world but it's not ass-raping expensive for an N64 sans-box. (i'm assuming it's sans-box Ack, if it's boxed then you got a helluva bargain! ;))

I have 3 nintendo 64's and all of them were around this price or less with equal amount of extras, some lots are worth buying for the controllers alone as I've saw people charing more controllers than anything else, this goes for most systems though not just n64.
