MUGEN: worth it?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

MUGEN: worth it?

Post by aaron »

there's a ton of mugen stuff on freeleech at UG right now, i ask the members of racketboy: is it worth it? should i check it out? what are some good things to start off with, any good tutorials on making your own game, building a customized character set, etc? i'm totally new to this and probably won't spend much time customizing the "games" per se, but i'd like to check it out and see if it's fun to play at least. how easy is it to get up and going from download/install?

Ahhh MUGEN how it takes me back a couple years.

It's a decent fighting system it's fun to see all your character from mortal kombat fight dbz characters or something. The problem is a lot of the characters are unbalanced and just take away from the fun half the time.

It is rather difficult to start up but once you get the hang of it you should be fine. I haven't played it in forever (as in since 2002) so I don't remember much about tutorials and stuff like that.

I got it going with no trouble, but I have to agree about issues with balance. Also, larger games tend to be less stable. I was following some guys working on MvsDC, but they've been working on it for years...

Eh, still fun, though much of the community is dead, and many of the websites are in Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, or Portuguese.

How's the Xbox MUGEN? I'd rather play on a modded Xbox than PC.
