I've never played a game either drunk or high, but I can only imagine that my skill would plummet if I did.

I'm with noise and Ryan, I'm the boss when I've got a buzz going and I'm playing a fighter. I think it's probably because my caution levels die completely and my muscle memory takes over, and I just spam combos I've committed to memory. I have very fond memories of wrecking people in BB and stacking up the hate mail.

But basically, when drunk I avoid anything text-heavy and go for arcade style games. So beat em ups, fighters, and shmups. Save the RPGs and stuff for long boring days or nights with no booze.

Shmups all the way. The more trippy and colorful the better.

Oddly, I have 1cc'd more shmups while drunk/high than I have while sober. Maybe because that "OMG I'm doing good now I can't screw up" feeling never kicks in when I am inebriated.

I actually suck at shmups, inebriating myself is my secret weapon.

Dood, that's funny, because that's how I beat Garegga.

My go-to's usually include Metal Slug, any KOF game; or any fighter, really.
Shmups, since really getting into them in recent months, and Micro Machines 64 Turbo. I have no idea why; but I love it, and I am just unbeatable when I drink.

Thanks

IDK, it was the 1st game in a long time where I just totally immersed myself in it; and one night, while drinking Turkey, it all just clicked. I think it helps me a little because I'm not as twitchy. A lot of the time I move around too much and end up killing myself.

Anyways, you, Mike and Hash are kicking my ass at RS. I only started playing yesterday, and have only topped out at the 400-500K range. I'll post in the SotM when I get a decent score.

The last I played Goldeneye wasted I almost went into the negative. Granted we were playing Rockets.

Coffee ftw!

Playing high, no problem. In fact, I think it gets me to concentrate even better. But playing drunk, forget it. I suck at everything drunk. And FPS while drunk, tend to make me a little nauseous.

Well it's not exactly the same thing, but I often had incredible kill streaks in FPS games and dominated PvP in WoW while I was sleep deprived. I'm also alot more relaxed and selfconfident in social situations (and when I'm driving a car, which probably isnt very safe) after an all nighter. Being really tired has some of the same effects as being drunk
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Being sleep deprived is often more debilitating than drinking. Sleep has a serious effect on our ability to function normally. In fact, studies indicate that it may be even worse to drive while lacking sleep than while sauced.
