I take it everybody has given up on WWE now?

I haven't tuned in since Wrestlemania, although I'm genuinely intrigued about the 1000th episode of Raw, and will make sure I check for it.
Eagerly awaiting the return of the Mean Street Posse.

RAW has been pretty bad, but i'm interested in the Punk/Bryan stuff. When Cena or Big Show come on- it's channel flipping time.

I can't believe they are wasting a Money in the Bank briefcase on four old former champs. Can't Cena just win a #1 contender's match and be done with it? The briefcase is best used to push young guys.

Meanwhile, on the smackdown side, are they setting this up for Tyson Kidd?

I'll tune in for episode 1000 also. When is it - the 23rd?

i don't know about you guys, but i enjoy watching the old school wrestlers beating Heath Slater over and over again  ..well maybe except for Doink. :P

it was really nice to see Sid in the WWE ring again a last week...even though his old now, he still got his charisma.

Not completely, but Raw and Smackdown are no longer priority viewing for me. In fact, the last episodes of both shows are on my DVR and I haven't watched them. There are far better things on TV. See the TV thread for my recent obsession with Breaking Bad, a show that actually gives a shit about storytelling.

I wish they were in a more old-school crowd because Sid's reaction was a little weak. I don't think people got it right away. I do like that they're bringing back more recent "older" wrestlers and not the same old legends.

I think the only thing I'm really interested in the WWE right now is AJ. Can't believe I'm saying that about a diva, but she's something fresh and new. Plus, it's nice to see a lady with a damn character and story in the WWE, unlike the useless pin up models that most of them are who just show up to shake their ass and look pretty. If you're going to exploit women for their looks alone, have them be managers or just eye candy for escorting the guys to the ring. Don't put women in the ring if they don't belong there. Every time I hear Beth Phoenix say, "get out of my ring" to someone I say, "Amen Beth, you tell em."

Also, I've heard that Karma ready to go and is coming back soon. I'm skeptical about how the WWE will use her, but she's so different from everything they have in the divas division that I am intrigued. I'm sold on Karma from her TNA feud with Gail Kim. I hope to god someone has the intelligence to build someone up as a good face for her to fight, The Glamizon being the most obvious choice. It's a shame that the WWE thinks so little of TNA, they could learn a lot from how TNA booked that Karma/Gail Kim feud

I'm pretty much exactly where you are with WWE. I'm bored with it, but the 1000th episode does have me interested. But knowing the WWE lately, they'll probably screw that up too.

On the other hand, TNA is getting better and better each weak. The ridiculous storyline with A.J. Styles, Dixie Carter, and the drug-addicted mommy is freaking stupid. But otherwise it's good, and the match-quality especially has been fantastic. The X-Division AND the main-event scene have both been giving us some pretty stellar matches lately. So check out TNA if you're bummed out on WWE at the moment.

It's a shame TNA doesn't have a DVD distributor. I would love a two-pack of their last two PPVs.

It is very clear Vince Russo isn't a part of this with how they have booked and ran the company of late. Their PPVs and programming are killing the WWE right now but any reflection in buyrates and ratings take time.

I always like to note that - when the nWo first came into WCW, the spike in viewership didn't really show until September (Bash was in June) so you can't expect immediate dividends, even in the information age where word spreads a bit quicker.

You know, sometimes I don't think the WWE takes itself seriously at all. Tonight's Raw feels like the company is parodying itself and making fun of itself. Did you see the anonymous general manager reveal?

I feel like this company is pretty much insulting its audience at this point. Here's this reveal you waited like over a year for....and it's him?

Also, hearing Cole's comments about how people think him wrestling is a disgrace to the sport seems to indicate that the WWE (and whenever I say the WWE I mean Vince) is very much aware of how much people hate all of his matches and feuds.

I honestly don't know what to say about the company anymore. I listened to a former creative team member interviewed on a podcast recently. He said that whenever a continuity issue popped up on Raw or Smackdown Vince basically said, "Who cares? Nobody is going to remember that anyway."

It's nice to see how much Vince cares about the storytelling

Guess that explains why John Cena is making such a big deal about him being in Money in the Bank when a year ago he insulted Del Rio for using the briefcase to become champion. Ah Cena, ever the hypocrite, but what can you expect from a company that probably doesn't care about character consistency since it doesn't give a crap about continuity.
