I'm pretty interested, as everything I've seen claimed it to be miles and miles ahead of the old trilogy (which I personally didn't like anyways). Still won't get me to read the comics though.Xeogred wrote:Amazing Spiderman. Loved it. Never watching the old ones again (not that I ever really did).
Emma Stone is very hot.
It was good and stuff. Lizard was amazing, not sure why so many of my friends were uninterested in him and stuff.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Same here. The original Spiderman trilogy, IMO, was only popular because of how low the bar was for superhero movies back then. And I'm not touching the comics; I've never met a Marvel series that managed to hold my attention.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I'm pretty interested, as everything I've seen claimed it to be miles and miles ahead of the old trilogy (which I personally didn't like anyways). I just saw the amazing spider man and I thought it sucked compared to Raimi's original. The only thing that was done better in the amazing spiderman was the effects. How anyone can prefer this to the original is beyond me.

Pretty awesome helicopter movie, with a nostalgic synth soundtrack to boot. Could have been shorter, but the lack of CG is great!

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

this has been on my list of films to see for a long time now. finally sat down and watched it and it did not disappoint. if you're any sort of fan of british black comedy then this is required viewing. plus it has Del Preston from Wayne's World 2

Also saw Moonrise Kingdom in the theatre a few days ago. I like Wes Anderson's films but I have to say I had kind of low expectations for this one and didn't really know what to expect based on the trailers. I enjoyed it though. It is a charming addition to Anderson's filmography and his signature framing/color/quirkiness style still comes across sincere. There are plenty of parodies of Anderson's style but luckily he's not parodying himself yet.
Not the film's fault but I have this sneaking suspicion that the crummy theatre I was in was projecting a DVD copy of the movie rather than a legit film print. Is this something movie theatres are doing these days to save money? I could be wrong but it was just too "clean" looking, no graininess or cigarette burns. It felt like it was missing that thin layer of Vaseline celluloid movie magic that I've come to expect from the cinema.

The web spin-around certainly tops upside down kisses.
The pacing is probably the only thing I can agree with a bit on others panning on it... but it's still not like it really bothered me much personally. The only thing I didn't totally like was how Gwen found it, it kind of just... happened and she accepted it right away. Haha, but oh well. Everything else was good and I'm definitely stoked for more, they need to do Venom right and this series is gonna be off the hook. I love the Goblin's myself but hopefully they don't take up the sequels entirely as we already had enough of them in the other films. The focus needs to be on Venom and that'll freaking rock.
