I have been playing this and got pretty far I guess, then I sold my copy to raise money for a CIB copy, so I recently started on my new, prettier cartridge. I'm working on actually 100%-ing the levels as I go this time. I know people complain about DKC3 being too easy but I like how I can just casually pick it up/put it back down and it's fun. I can't get into all that hardcore RPG shit these days.
What are you playing?

Donkey Kong Country 3

I vastly prefer platformers where I can find everything the first time around. It's that fine line between "Ooohh, I bet I can get up there" and "Seriously, how the fuck do I get up there?!"
Re: What are you playing?
Haha I know what you mean, DKC3 doesn't seem bad at all in that sense though, have you tried it? It's not until about the third world that you have to actually start doing a little work to find/get to the secrets.sabrage wrote:I vastly prefer platformers where I can find everything the first time around. Re: What are you playing?
I've only played the first DKC, I think I was at like at like 80something% when I beat it. Along those same lines, I'm always frustrated when I play DOOM or Serious Sam and I get to the end of the level, having explored every nook and cranny, 8 minutes over par, only to be informed that I've found 5/17 secrets.
Re: What are you playing?
Yeah DOOM is just bullshit. haha
I was actually just thinking about how I've never tried to 100% DKC1, which is odd considering how many times I've played it. I might try that after I finish 3.

Played a lot of Tetris via Super Game Boy with my wife last night. Tonight Dr.Mario will be diagnosing viruses.
Re: What are you playing?
I understand that feeling, but for me, that's more tolerable than something you can see, and know exactly how to get to, but it's 30-90% of the way into the level and if you miss it you have to start from the beginning to try to get it again. Depending on the game I still do it anyway, for completion, but it pisses me off to no end.

Zelda II: Link's Adventure
I always bought into the hype of how crappy this game is compared to its top down counterparts. Then I was surfing youtube and looking at some LttP hacks like Parallel Worlds and I saw a hack for Zelda II and got to thinking, the farthest I ever got in that game was past the first palace. So I popped it back in and have been sucked in for days.
The game is radically different in almost every way and I am really enjoying the difficulty level and the learning curve. It makes you think outside of the box like a lot of RPG based games do. I think I've died like 22 times already and I'm only on the 4th palace.
Super duper fun.
