Anyone know what system will come after the DS?

Where have you heard this rumor? o.0
Personally I can't conceive Nintendo coming out with anything new for as long as four years from now. Of course they could just make another DS with better graphics, but how are they going to come up with features as zany and wild as the DS was when it first came out? Three screens? I'm no prophet, but personally I don't foresee anything coming to replace the DS soon.

Yeah but tons of games have already been programmed to compensate for the gap between the existing screens, like Contra 4. If you put them closer together, it will seem like objects are getting temporarily stuck in a black hole.NathanBarnatt wrote:I think it would be nice to have a bigger screen the size of the 2 DS screens but not be separated. I dont know how that would be possible if still being pocket sized.

Actually that's not neccesarily illogical, nor will it be impossible (eventually). Their is "soft screen" technology in development that would essentially allow for a touch screen monitor that you could fold up in your pocket. If the material were just stiff enough to preven wrinkling you could have a DS that is all screen, save for a few small components. The entire thing would be one big, flexible touch screen. Again, I don't see this happening for years to come, but the technology will be there eventually.NathanBarnatt wrote:I mean on like a whole new system. Have a 4in x 4in screen. Double the PSP size. That's probably totally illogical but whatever. A guy can dream can't he?
