Just look at everything the Texas Board of Education wants to cut out from its social studies curriculum.

I'll give you education. It is currently pretty crap, and we aughta fix it. (Though, I've found many "educated" people that aren't nearly as smart as they consider themselves. Other than my grammar issues, I've been smarter than a devent amount I've met.)

I find it kinda infuriating that every single time there's budget issues, education seems to be the very first thing on the chopping block. That definitely can't help things.

But rolling back on "every socialprogression imaginable"? Seriously? Have you been in Austin in the last... 30 years or so? Its progressive there. Very. A big place for the homosexuals and their supporters, for one. I think you're not thinking this through. You make it sound like we'll go back to being slave drivers harvesting cotton fields with sickle bars...

And Church and State would stay seperated. It seems like everybody spends a time in East Texas. Most of Texas isn't nearly as high and mighty Bible thumpin' like Dallas and such are. Austin and San Antonio have a ton of athiests, assuming they didn't move they wouldn't let it happen.

Yeah, I was being a bit over-dramatic with what I said, but I'm sure you get what I'm aiming at there. I just really don't like the idea of effectively being 'trapped' in Texas because of something like a secession.

It's worth noting, however, that 3 of the top 5 most conservative cities in the entire country are in Texas. I also happen to live in one of them (Abilene, specifically), and I don't get around much, so it's very likely that my views of this place might be a tad distorted.

I've thought about it, and if Texas was to be correct and diplomatic on this decision, there needs to be an amount of time for people to leave and such. I'd say a year for everyone to decide whether or not they would want to stay, also allowing time for those in the military to get figured out who they were going to stay with.

Texas is conservative, don't get me wrong. At this point though, Church and State are nigh on guaranteed not to come together. It would cause problems in multiple ways, and affect relations with other countries. It would just be such a poor decision that only an absolute idiot would go through with it...

Can't comment on Abilene. I've only visited once or twice, just passing through for FFA stuff.

Doesn't matter how much time you're given if a big move like that simply isn't financially feasible for you. Plus again, a potential war doesn't seem even close to worth it.

Abilene's kinda smallish for a city. Not much to see/do here at all.

Something from H&M having inferior quality?

Insert Darth Vader NOOOO! picture (with your imagination, but also my imagination as Darth Vader's skinny jeans won't button).

I think it is funny that you are identifying/locating groups of people in the fashion that you are. I can't put my finger on what, exactly, I find strange about it, but there's some kind of charming naivete about it.

Also what do you mean by a homosexual "supporter"? A straight person who plays matchmaker for their gay friends?

Texas gets a bad rap. I think that living in some of the more easterly Southern states would be worse for someone who is progressively minded than Texas.

For the record and with first hand experience: Austin is overrated.

Also, can someone tell me if I should get an iphone or an android? First smart phone purchase incoming.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

When I said 'smart phone', I also meant 'smart purchase'.
