Honestly, I'd support it. There would be the possibility of a war, and then things would get back with the economy quickly before it got better. ut in the long run, I could see it working out very well.

Or, it could be like we never left the US. Which isn't that good of a future...

No. Has it not occurred to you that a pretty good chunk of the population would rather NOT suddenly find themselves living in a completely different country? I really don't care if it would appease a bunch of idealistic fringe types, the notion is completely, utterly, insane.

Given some of the stuff Texas has tried to pass before, I shutter to imagine the kinds of laws that'd be enacted here if the state didn't have to answer to any kind of federal government.

I know most people wouldn't support it. The last major survey I read about it said about 20% were for it, while 60% were against. Honestly, that is waaaay more than I expected. I'm not saying we should or could seceed, I'm just saying I would not be against the idea.

May I ask what types of laws? I'm just interested to see what you would consider bad laws. Just to get a feel of where you stand.

Bahh, I need something better to do.
You mean the land being returned to Mexico? Yea I'm all for it if they make all those racist border patrols sneak across the border in to the U.S.

I just imagine that Texas, as it's own country, would roll back on just about every social progression imaginable, and that 'separation of church and state' wouldn't even be an idea.

Just look at everything the Texas Board of Education wants to cut out from its social studies curriculum.

Lastly, though, as you said yourself, possibility of war. War. Over what? Health care? Doesn't sound worth it.

My dad has had this same problem recently. I go to Wal-Mart and buy the cheap little multi packs that have different size rings (diameter not gauge). It is about the only option I can find anymore that isn't goofy "edgy" designs, "bling" or gauges.

I'll give you education. It is currently pretty crap, and we aughta fix it. (Though, I've found many "educated" people that aren't nearly as smart as they consider themselves. Other than my grammar issues, I've been smarter than a devent amount I've met.)

But rolling back on "every socialprogression imaginable"? Seriously? Have you been in Austin in the last... 30 years or so? Its progressive there. Very. A big place for the homosexuals and their supporters, for one. I think you're not thinking this through. You make it sound like we'll go back to being slave drivers harvesting cotton fields with sickle bars...

And Church and State would stay seperated. It seems like everybody spends a time in East Texas. Most of Texas isn't nearly as high and mighty Bible thumpin' like Dallas and such are. Austin and San Antonio have a ton of athiests, assuming they didn't move they wouldn't let it happen.

Honestly, we just have two hugely different viewpoints and I don't see either of us changing our minds.

Would it be wrong to suggest buying the more general women's earings? Thats what most of the guys I know do. Small hoops, different types of studs and such.

But most guys get the huge gauges nowadays, which seems horribly dumb to me...

White boy problem.

Just razzing ya.

I had an earring in high school and for a while in college until Katie Kelly #1 said, "You already look goofy enough, loose the earring".

Hahaha. I mainly like flat black studs, black pyramid earrings, and silver hoops. My favorite pair ever was a black pyramid set from H&M (as seen here) but they were cheap as hell and all the paint flaked off in about a year. I've never found a suitable replacement.

It's really not worth me getting too upset about it, I can only wear them two days a week anyway (can't have them in @ work).
