Namco museum 1-5 black label
Namco museum 1-5 black label
I was just curious if anyone has or have had the namco museum black label's 1-5 for the ps1. I stumbled on a video review on them and I went on ebay to see what they are worth and forget about it. Too much money especially 4 and 5. Does anyone feel that they are worth the price for games we play thru mame or as a download thru our current systems today?

I have only 4 and 5 for the games that don't appear anywhere else but the arcade or your favorite MAME of choice. Though I waited patiently until I found them at reasonable prices. They are a hard sell for sure unless you're a completist at what they usually go for.

it's been a while since I've compared, so which games are on 4 and 5 that weren't on the later PS2 and 360 compilations?

There is a Twinstick game in the Namco 4, Assault. Assault Plus is there too.noiseredux wrote:it's been a while since I've compared, so which games are on 4 and 5 that weren't on the later PS2 and 360 compilations?
Black Label or Greatest Hits have little meaning to me, just which has more content for game play. I would not pay a huge amount, since all are on Mame. Maybe good to get the PS1 compilations to play on the Big Screen TV if the PC cannot be hooked up. The unique control feature such as my tease on the Twinstick would be the other reason, though adapters for the PC can be found.mas wrote:I was just curious if anyone has or have had the namco museum black label's 1-5 for the ps1. Assault
I see Baraduke did make it to the 360 stuff.
Handy table.

I am a big arcade coin-op fan and back in 1997-99 i went through a phase of collecting the PS arcade compilations, before i discovered Mame i would of paid quite a bit for them but of course in your situation it all depends what the going price is and do you own Mame yourself?. Luckily back in the PS era i owned a market stall as was a game trader so eventually i found everything i was looking for,my PS arcade compilation collection is here- http://www.jammajup.co.uk/playstation.html

My goodness - that's a great wiki entry there on the Namco comps.Hobie-wan wrote:Legend of Valkyrie (Valkyrie no Dentetsu)noiseredux wrote:it's been a while since I've compared, so which games are on 4 and 5 that weren't on the later PS2 and 360 compilations?

I have the Namco Museum Virtual Arcade comp for the 360. You can find it for $20 new at Best Buy in the bargain bins normally. Great set.
Re: Namco museum 1-5 black label
I was considering going for the complete black label set five years ago and they were hard to find then. I did find two of them locally, but decided not to even bother. At the time, it was time-consuming to wade through all the "Greatest Hits" reprints to find the black label.
