is it just me or Mass Effect is becoming expensive?
gamestop is selling it for 29.99 now.

It's just you. (Which is to say, it's just Gamestop.) Gamestop is also selling the downloadable PC version for $5.
Meanwhile, Amazon has new copies for a little under $20. It's a greatest-hits title, I can't image it's going to become "expensive" any time soon. My guess is that Gamestop's automated price-setter is acting up or something.

I hope you're right. I just bought me a copy and I think it's time I started the saga before generation ends. I heard Platinum Hits has extras and improved gameplay is it correct? The one I got comes w/ 2 discs.

I've noticed when a new title to a series comes out, it tends to lift the price of the previous titles for a short while. (I saw this with Halo at least) Once all the hype over 3 starts to die down. All 3 games will start bottoming out in price.

I actually think that the first game will continue to sit around $20-25. The biggest reason being that the first one was not available on PS3, thus making it one of the few games Xbox 360 has over PS3.

They should have at the very least made a PSN version of ME 1.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I actually think that the first game will continue to sit around $20-25. The biggest reason being that the first one was not available on PS3, thus making it one of the few games Xbox 360 has over PS3.

I don't think they can. Correct me if I'm wrong but ME1 published by Microsoft, I assume they retain rights for the game. Or has the rights been transferred to EA? If Microsoft still owns the distribution rights, it will never hit the PlayStation in any formatBoringSupreez wrote:They should have at the very least made a PSN version of ME 1.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft retains the publishing rights. Similar to the first Dead Rising. (Sadly, Dead Rising has not managed to hold value nearly as well.turtle wrote:I don't think they can. Xbox 360 only. Microsoft did not publish ME1 on PC. Leaving some room for doubt.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I'm pretty sure Microsoft retains the publishing rights. Similar to the first Dead Rising. The truth, whatever it might be, isn't public knowledge. NDAs and all that.
Lum fan.

Digital versions of the game are crazy cheap. I usually see it at around $5-10 regular price, and during sales the thing can be had for a sack of buttons and a nickle!
