I have the unit itself packed up, but I have the cables. I have 3 power cords and two AV cables. The Genesis and CD are both the model 2s, so the Sega CD is the smaller one that has the little platform the Genesis attaches to next to it.
Do I need all three plugged in for power, and then do I need two sets of AV cables or three? I thought I read somewhere you only needed one set of AV cables, as they share the AV, but each one needs it's own power.
I couldn't find anything online in regards to it (I tried searching on the forums but either it's never been posted or I fail at searching) and wanted to know, in case I'm missing a cord or if I have any extras. I'm trying to get all my console cables (for the systems not plugged in currently) bagged and tagged so when I want to play a console I can get the cables quickly.

Re: Setting up a Genesis/CD/32X Combo Question
All 3 need to be plugged in.
There should only be 2 AV cables needed (one from the Genesis into the 32x and another from the 32x to the TV).

Re: Setting up a Genesis/CD/32X Combo Question
Ok thanks.
Want to confirm what you said as well. I plug one set of AV cables into my Genesis, and those go from the Genesis into the 32X, then the 32X has another slot for AV cables, which I plug in and connect to the TV?

Then turn it all on, go outside, and watch the dials on your electric meter fly!
Re: Setting up a Genesis/CD/32X Combo Question
I suggest getting a trio power supply:

I have the model 1 trio which I use on my Japanese Mega Drive 1 and Mega CD 1 and it runs perfectly, and takes up only 1 socket.

Definitely gonna half to keep an eye on those. I am surprised Sega didn't make one of these back in the day.
