This is one I need, so if you have a chance to grab it and don't like it, you can sell/trade it to me.BurningDoom wrote:Anyone played Virtual Pinball for Sega Genesis? Is it worth picking up?

I don't use a cc either. These are all available for $20 in total. Complete steal.Hobie-wan wrote:How much are all these costing? I'll be damned if I'm putting my CC info in, so that would mean buying point cards if I joined in.

Re: Video Pinball
I almost clocked in 2 billion and some change on BoP earlier.

Re: Video Pinball
I just did this, but the particular round of the game in which I did wasn't even a very good one. My best score without any Big Wheel bonuses is around 50million, which I consider to be a better judge of my skills. I think it is stupid that the Big Wheel also gives out a 50 million bonus too. The thing is, that score no longer shows up on the leaderboards, so it shows that I got 2 billion "lucky" points and only 25 million or so "regular" points - a fairly mediocre round. I agree that the game is fun (if relatively easy), but as a competitive title it is severely lacking.s1mplehumar wrote:I almost clocked in 2 billion and some change on BoP earlier.
Welcome aboard, Starky.
From Internet Pinball Machine Database:
Since BoP is a special case, some explanation is needed for the way it handles high scores.
Williams knew it would be unfair to put billion-point scores in the regular high score chart (since it can only hold 5), so they came up with the "Billionaire's Club." This separate high score chart keeps track of the top 19-20 scores for anyone who's made the billion shot.
I say 19-20 top scores, because any time you make the billion shot, you are GUARANTEED to get onto the Billionaire's Club. If your final score is lower than the lowest total in the Club, then you'll still get to put your initials in, get your 2 credits (if that's what your machine is set for), and get 20th spot in the Club.
Then there's the standard high-score table. This has Grand Champion and the other more recent top 4 scores just like any modern Williams pin. Now, though it's good that they split them up, this brings in the 50 million Big Wheel award. It's not really a problem if you get the billion too, but if you just get the 50M, that'll throw off your score more than anything else in the game. Surprisingly enough, the 50M is a bigger score-unbalancer than the billion shot! They really should have come up with something else, but what can you do?

Re: Video Pinball
I cracked a 58 million score on Medieval Madness last night - still about half behind the guys that have had the game for two weeks before me but I *love* this table.
I hope there's room for me to grow that score, unlike Arabian Nights where simple threw up a ginormous score that kind of killed my interest in the table

Did anyone ever play this?

This is honestly as close as I ever have gotten to playing a virtual pinball game. I remember me and some friends would say the truthful highscore one of us had, and if one had one higher, we would say we 1up'ed them in score to a reasonable extent, and make up some bs excuse as to why we said we had something different.
"What do you mean? I got that like, last week."
"Ooooh, I thought we were referring to just THIS week. See I got X more score that you last Thursday."
And that would go on for a little bit longer, then we would laugh. You still neither knew whether any of us were telling the truth to start with.
