Hi all.
Got me a PAL Dreamcast console and a VGA box. Also ordered a DC-X disc for playing imports.
Set up the console in VGA mode and the options screens show perfectly, full screen 640x480 60hz. Lovely!
I tried to run the DC-X disc in VGA mode and I get a "not support" message. Tried running it on start-up and inserting it after booting, but same result. Ok, so I switched the VGA box to TV mode (using yello, red, white video leads) and the DC-X screen loads up fine.
So... is this normal behaviour? I thought DC-X was able to "force" some titles into playing in VGA mode so I assumed the disc itself would boot in VGA mode?
Help? Thanks,
Ant

Re: DC-X question
When you hear the disc stops spinning you can put in your import game.
It should boot up just fine, even though you got the 'no support' message...
To access the special options screen press any button before you close the lid after you put in your import...

Cool. My Pal disc of Gunbird 2 is running fine so I'll find out for sure when my import Soul Calibur disc arrives.

Re: DC-X question
Correct. Sorry, I meant that it's running fine in TV mode. But at least it's running (a relief for me using an ebay console!)

Re: DC-X question
Its rather simple really. There are a few ways to go about it but the way I do it:
With Gunbird GDrom inside your DC and your VGA connector disconnected from your DC console, turn on the DC and wait for system to pass thru the initial Dreamcast starup screen. As soon as you hear the console loading into the "Produced by or under liscence from SEGA" screen, reconnect your VGA cable to the back of the Dreamcast and that about does it!
