finally got a copy of dragonforce at a decent price, but...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Post by dlmvii »

every time I try to enter a battle the screen goes black with music still playing :(
One very small but very deep, ominous looking scratch is all it takes I guess

hopefully skippy disc can come to my rescue again
(I had a copy of tactics ogre for the playstation that has been unplayable for probably 6 years and it came back from them looking like new :))

(I promise I'm not trying to post an ad for them, they're just awesome and my broken dragon force makes me sad)

that sucks! :( I had a copy of Lunar for Sega CD with the same problem. One bad scratch in the wrong area can really be a pain. Make sure you clean your laser really good and blow the dust out of your system with some canned air. Sometimes that will help your machine read those crappy discs!

I guess that is one nice thing about digital downloads via the Wii and Xbox Live Arcade. As much as I prefer have a physical copy of a game, at least with files you don't have to worry about scratches.

There's a part of me that has always hated optical media. Not only are they easy to damage, but those damn load times that never existed on cartridge games. Seems as much as technology improves, there are always new drawbacks.

skippydisc.com

they send you mailers, you send them back, they fix them, send them to you

it's like 4$ per disc + 3$ flat for shipping (you pay to ship your stuff back to them). Turnaround was like a week for me, I was a little skeptic as i'd never heard of them before, but my stuff came back in great shape and fairly quickly.

Hey fellas, this is a retro game site.....not a forum for people who worship cheesy over the top guitar solos. You know that, right?

The complete opposite happens to me. I'll be hanging around different places both online and offline, and someone starts talking about DragonForce and I'm all like, "Woh! You play DragonForce!? I love that game!"

Then people just look at me weird.

Hah! I didn't say I liked the band. I have to admit, they are freaking hilarious to listen to.
