Earth Defense Force (360)

Hey guys, what's up. I'm looking on getting into the series, but I have a problem- I'd have noone to play with. Anybody here have it, or would be willing to play it with me if I was to get it?

I'm also just looking for general opinions on th series, and thoughts about the PS2 games. Are they the same thing, or different? Also, are they English friendly?



And just another little question or two I didn't think that needed their own thread. Do you guys think it'd be worth me keep the Gears of War games after the end of the generation? There'd be coop, but as of current, I have nigh on noone to coop with. And, Left 4 Dead. Worth keeping on console, or should I just grab the PC version?

The original 360 EDF game is great, if really low budget and campy. Some people dislike that, but I think it adds to the whole 50s sci-fi vibe. The newer one isn't so great unfortunately.

the short version is that I do like all four, but they vary in quality. The best is Global Defense Force, followed by 2017, followed by Monster Attack, with Insect Armageddon taking up a distant last place. It's a cool game, but the change in developer really hurts the game. It just doesn't "feel" like an Earth Defense Force game. Luckily though Sandlot has announced they're working on a EDF4, which should make everything better and like insect armageddon never happened.

Man I love Sandlot's games. They often feel cheap and unfinished in a way but something about the sense of scale, wanton destruction and B-movie camp makes me forgive any and all problems.

I really, really, REALLY want a new Robot Alchemic Drive on the 360. Make it happen Sandlot.

EDF 2017 is awesome. My friend and I finished that game on every difficulty and got all the weapons. It's definitely one of the best coop games I've played. I'm not sure how great it would be in single player, though. My friend played 1P, but I never did.

On the other hand, Insect Armageddon is terrible. We gave up about four stages in. It is not fun in any way.

The trailer for the PC version has the worst tagline in PC gaming history:

"The biggest bugs in the universe... are now on your PC!"

Sounds like malware to me.

People should be saying Earth Defense Force 2017, that's the full name of the 360 game.
