Just curious, when you say "Puyo Puyo Pop" do you mean "Puyo Puyo Fever" (Puyo Pop Fever in the US) "Puyo Puyon," or "Puyo Puyo Da!"?

I wasn't really aware that Mars Matrix, Record of Lodoss War, Gigawing 2 or Skies of Arcadia Legends were rare, but I have those.
For rarest of my collection, I guess Legend of Zelda : Collector's Edition, Suikoden 2, Ibara (PS2), and Strider 2 with misprinted discs. (Honestly not sure if that really makes it rare, but the disc printed Strider 2 is actually the original Strider and vice versa.) Nevermind. A quick look at the wiki page shows that this was a labeling error for the NA release.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Hologram)

Aren't those just more expensive than rare?

OP's need to be more clear in most of the threads like this, right down to explicitly saying what "SHOULD NOT" be posted in their thread.

A rare game thread is great idea - i'd love to see some rare games, stuff I don't know about, or stuff i've read about but never actually saw in a buddies collection.

This thread is usually a list of $50 games :/

It doesn't have to be $200 to be rare.

...and being $200 doesn't make it rare.

Print run / availability are what make something rare.

Well...in that case...

SNES: Bebe's Kids 8)

It is the rarest SNES game in my collection. It is also the worst. Assuming that any one else who finds this game - rightfully - destroys it, it will eventually be a one-of-a-kind item.

I've got Fire N' Ice and Tengen Tetris. Both are cart only, but the carts are in good shape. They're also both great games.

In all seriousness, here are the "rarest" games in my collection according to Digital Press:

Nintendo Systems:
NES: Puzznic, Jimmy Connor Tennis, Bible Buffet, Venice Beach Volleyball, Galaxy 5000, Hatris, Fire 'n Ice, Deathbots, Color a Dinosaur, Wally Bear and the NO! Gang, Jungle Book, Tetris (Tengen), Pac-Mania, Sunday Funday, Qix
SNES: Bebe's Kids
N64: Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth, Woms: Armageddon, Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Caliber
GB: Boxxle II
GBC: Shantae

Sega Systems
SMS: King's Quest, Slap Shot
GEN: Aerobiz: Supersonic
SAT: Panzer Dragoon Saga
DC: Worms World Party

Sony Systems
PS1: RayStorm, Shanghai: True Valor, X-Com: UFO Defense, Spot Goes to Hollywood, Silverload, Herc's Adventure, Motor Toon Grand Prix

(I listed multiple titles if Digital Press ranked them equally "rare", and I did not include NGC, GBA, PS2, and XBOX games because I do not think that Digital Press's rarity guides for those systems are accurate or complete.)

It is interesting to see where the "rare" title intersect with the "valuable" ones, and I am very surprised at some of the games that are considered "rare".

Puzznic is definitely one of those rare, but not necessarily valuable, games. It definietly took me a while to track down a copy in the wild. (Not as long as it took me to track down Bebe's Kids, mind you, but a good while.)

Puyo Puyo Fever, yeah... the last 1st Party Dreamcast game to come out. I have yet to find another copy online and if I do it goes for almost insane prices. However, most of the list I was going by was the list that the site itself provide as to what the Rarest and Most Valuable games are plus also my own experience at finding the games.

Ok, I was a little afraid that there was another Puyo Puyo release on the DC that I hadn't heard about.

I think Puyo Puyo Fever is relatively uncommon in Japan also. I picked it up for relatively cheap, so it doesn't command a price like Cleopatra's Fortune or anything, but I've only ever seen it at one store, and at any given time there's maybe only half a dozen available on Amazon. (Or make that two, at the moment.)
