Oh I know about the dangers of 3rd party cartridges. I mainly got this one to hold me over until I found an official one for cheap, which I did. I won an auction for a brand new one from Japan for only 17 bucks! So once that arrives, I won't be using this one as my primary save cart. It'll just be for extreme back up purposes.marurun wrote:Do be careful. If it has expanded capacity due to data compression it might lose your saves periodically. Also, make sure to keep an eye on your cartridge slot. 3rd party cartridges have been historically held to wreak havoc with the slot over time.
Yeah, I'm actually in the same boat. There's nothing quite like firing up a game of X-Men vs. Street Fighter.ninjainspandex wrote:thats pretty neat but unfortunately most of my favorite saturn imports require the extra ram like the king of fighters, metal slug, xmen vs street fighter, ect. so the action replay 4 in 1 is still the best option for me aside from region modding. i really wish they would come out with a new action replay that supported direct saves.
I don't know how they would make one with direct save functions though. I think once it boots up in RAM mode there's no way to make the Saturn look for something different. That's why swapping cartridges during gameplay just messes stuff up. I don't know though, I may be wrong.
