Re: Video Pinball
There are some cool things in Flipnic, but I'm not totally sold. You spend waaaaaay to much time waiting for the ball to head to another area or watching animated interludes when you activate some special mode. They also made them unskippable. It is like being punished for losing a battle in an RPG or action game and being forced to watch a cutscene for the 12th time. I want to play the game, not be forced to watch cutscenes over and over.c0wb0y wrote:Flipnic was good for some creative video pinball ideas as well.

I activated the billionaire's club on the "big wheel" but stupidly missed my shot up the lane.retrosportsgamer wrote:Bride of Pin-Bot:

I will say, I think that the billion points shot is a stupid scoring gimmick that really throws off the scores for the whole table. Basically the score should be interpreted as X,000,000,000 (where X is just the number of times someone made a specific shot). I'd much rather have seen that shot worth 50 million or something that places it fairly in comparison to other shots on the table (especially since luck is so involved). It is a fun table and I realize that is just part of it's charm, but it seems to be a poor choice for a competition table for that reason.
I finally played around with Funhouse and CV a bit, and I must say that this collection of 8 games now in the library is astounding. The amount of my time that has been sucked into playing this on the Vita>more than all other Vita games I've played combined - and I've beaten quite a few other titles already!

Yeah, the leaderboards thing is a big motivator to play more (for me, at least). It helps that me, s1mple, and RSG have been jockeying positions quite a bit over the past few months. Unfortunately that seems to be about it for the regular players on my own friends list...Stark wrote:Just from a score-sharing standpoint? I got Resistance by the way. I have spent a lot of time with Medieval Madness, but the other three - Funhouse, Bride of Pinbot, and Cirque Voltaire - all look like they will be a lot of fun too. Looking forward to going head to head with y'all on scores over the next few months...
...which reminds me: more people from the forum need to get on these and start playing and/or sharing their PSN screen names (mine is dsheinem).
Oh, and let me know when you are up for some Resistance multiplayer

I'm getting better handling the ball in the lower portion of the table. Still, this pin is brutal, imho.dsheinem wrote:You seem to have figured it outs1mplehumar wrote:

We need more competition! You guys have no idea what you're missing here.

I've played more Pinball Arcade than other PS3 games combined in the last four months. Getting four new tables at once was almost overwhelming since I put so much time into the first four (ok three - blackhole is the worstdsheinem wrote:I activated the billionaire's club on the "big wheel" but stupidly missed my shot up the lane.retrosportsgamer wrote:Bride of Pin-Bot:

Bride of Pinbot - agreed, the Billionaires club thing is fluke-ish. The "real" score is 25 million there but I couldn't help posting since you guys have great Medieval scores already (I think I'm 38 million after 5-10 runs).

Re: Video Pinball
How much are all these costing? I'll be damned if I'm putting my CC info in, so that would mean buying point cards if I joined in.
