Shantae for GBC, I suppose, though its cartridge-only, but even that costed me over $100 to get. And I lucked out before the price really started to jump, too...

I suppose it would have to be my PAL copy of Alien Soldier. aside from that i have a few quite uncommon games, but nothing I would say is rare.

I would guess Faselei would be the rarest, but that's just my guess.

As someone who's followed the Neo Geo Pocket market for the past couple of years, I'd agree that the UK version of Faselei is rare. However, it appears for auction noticeably more frequently than Pocket Reversi or Evolution: Eternal Dungeons. UK Gals Fighters and Samurai Shodown! also seldom appear for auction.

But the absolute hardest to find are the UK Black & White versions of Pocket Baseball, Pocket Tennis, and Neo Geo Cup. Not the color versions, mind you, but the monochrome ones that were released in that short window of time before the "Neo Geo Pocket" was supplanted by "Neo Geo Pocket Color."

Here is my list, most of these are from memory so I most likely am missing a few things.

Nintendo 64: (These also do not have the box or instructions unless otherwise stated)

Conker's Bad Fur Day
Mario Party 1, 2 & 3
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Gold Edition, still with box and instructions, though they have seen better days)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Hologram)

Playstation 1:
Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX (VIII & IX are black labels)

Sega Saturn
NiGHTS into Dreams (Both US Version and Japanese Version with White & Black Controller) (US Version missing Instructions & Box)
Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams
Burning Rangers
Official Sega Saturn Back-up Cartridge

Dreamcast
Power Stone 2 (I brought it with only the game and CD back at Gamestop years ago. Took 8 years to finally find the book for it)
Sonic Shuffle
Puyo Puyo Pop

Playstation 2
Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition

Gamecube
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition

Nintendo Wii
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Limited Edition (Music CD & WiiMote): I thought I'd include this because I've seen seeing HUGE prices for them on eBay.

Others
Final Fantasy XIII Playstation 3 Controller- I got this from a friend who went to China when FFXIII came out, she is a huge gamer too and she knows where to get official ones so I asked her to pick me up the Controller. She kept the game that came with it and I kept the controller.

Most of those are high-value items as opposed to being genuinely rare items. Final Fantasy VII is a good example, you can find copies of it ANYWHERE, especially if you're willing to pay the going price for it.

Ah, good point. I mostly copy/paste a list of what I had from the another site with the same topic. If anything, I would say off the top of my head, my Final Fantasy XIII Playstation 3 Controller and Puyo Puyo Pop (Japan) for the Dreamcast since I have yet to see them selling anywhere and they are in very good condition too. Since they were hard to get to begin with and somewhat unknown when they came out.

Besides an original release of Final Fantasy VII for PSX which is just expensive and not really rare I got...

Suikoden 2 (can't tell if rare or just expensive)
Tomba
Persona

Also, FFVII PC release and the FFVIII PC release.
And the Fallout 1 & 2 big boxes, I heard those are pretty rare, too.

Good ole' bragging threads! :D

I know this thread is about rarity, but - since a lot of games in my collection are equally rare - I thought it would be a fun exercise to determnie the three most valuable games for each "dead" system in my collection (i.e., every system except the 3DS, NDS, and Wii). Here are the results:

Nintendo Systems
NES: Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers 2, DuckTales 2, Fire & Ice
SNES: Mega Man X3, Castlevania: Dracula X, Metal Warriors
N64: Worms: Armageddon, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Caliber
NGC: Skies of Arcdia Legends, Phantasy Star Online, The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
GBC: Shante, Castlevania Legends, Resident Evil Gaiden
GBA: Final Fantasy VI: Advance, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy V: Advance

Sega Systems
SMS: Dead Angle, King's Quest, Phantasy Star
GEN: Aerobiz: Supersonic, El Viento, Michael Jackson Moonwalker
SAT: Panzer Dragoon Saga, Guardian Heroes, Three Dirty Dwarves
DC: Mars Matrix, Record of Lodoss War, Dynamite Cop

Sony Systems
PS1: Brigandine: Legend of Forsena, Tomba, X-Com: UFO Defense
PS2: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2, Gradius V, Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Other
XBOX: Conker: Live & Reloaded, Alien vs. Predator: Extinction, Fatal Frame II

I have several rare/valuable "disc only games (Dragon Force, Mega Man Legends 2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, etc.), but I did not count them since I only collect complete games for the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation. I likewise have a sealed copy of .Hack Part 4: Quarantine for the PS2, but I did not count it since I am trying to trade it.

In any event, it is interesting to see how prices change over time. I was a bit surprised by some of the games that made it into the top three for each system. (Dead Angle? El Viento? Gradius V? Who knew those games had some value?)

currently my rarest title I own is stadium events for the Nes. Which is for sale just so you all know :D With the Nes pad to run on (which is somewhere hiding)

As for my personal collection hmmmm.

Panzer dragoon saga, dragon force, Mars matrix, giga wing 2 to name a few.

Also if anyone is looking for stadium events and or the nes running pad I will be posting a sales thread so feel free to PM me. :D

And yes i know what it's worth :P

OP's need to be more clear in most of the threads like this, right down to explicitly saying what "SHOULD NOT" be posted in their thread.

A rare game thread is great idea - i'd love to see some rare games, stuff I don't know about, or stuff i've read about but never actually saw in a buddies collection.

This thread is usually a list of $50 games :/

It doesn't have to be $200 to be rare.

...and being $200 doesn't make it rare.

Print run / availability are what make something rare.
