Help with X-Men vs Street Fighter and 4MB RAM!!!
OK, here's the story: Having long wanted to get into Saturn import gaming, I up and bought a gray Japanese Saturn and X-men vs Street Fighter with the 4MB RAM cartridge included. I just plugged the saturn in, put in the cartridge and the game and turned the console on. After I make it throught the boot screen and sega logo, I get a message in Japanese, the only part of which I can understand is "4MB RAM" mentioned twice. I assume this is a warning message telling me I need a cartridge to play the game, but no matter what button you press (there are no options to select) it takes you back to the Saturn "cd player" screen, and won't load the game. I assume something is wrong with either the console or the cartridge as it is not recognizing there is a 4MB cart in there. Just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything, and looking for suggestions. I also just replaced the internal battery in the Saturn, and contacted the guy who sold me the Saturn to see if he ever had any problems with it. Any ideas?
ok, nevermind
Finally got it to work after about 30 minutes of fiddling with the cart and the console. I cleaned the cartridge contacts, and looked into the console slot where there appeared to be a tiny piece of hair or lint so i used compressed air to blow anything I could see out of the cartridge slot. FINALLY - the beloved Capcom logo appeared!!! Hope you enjoyed my success story. New question: X-Men VS Street Fighter is the only Japanese game I have, what should I get next? (Preferably something cheap, not like Radiant or Taromaru)

If you're looking for gaming on the cheap, I found a little gem called Vatlva. It's a top down, 6 player simultaneous car combat game, that zooms in and out of the action while you're playing. If you don't like chaos, don't bother with it.RedArwing wrote:New question: X-Men VS Street Fighter is the only Japanese game I have, what should I get next? And if you want to get some use out of that 4 meg cart, check out Vampire Saviour or Marvel Vs. Street Fighter. Both 2D fighters by Capcom. Dungeons and Dragons collection (2D beatemup) also utilizes the cart.
