I know, but I was not aware PAL GC supported RGB with just the Multi A/V connection. Did a quick google search verify my own comment.
I don't understand why Nintendo didn't add RGB support to the NTSC version without the need of an extra cable.

This is Nintendo we're talking about.

Same guys that removed Svid support for the SNES 2nd model and Component capability with later GCN models :?

Indeed. As standard, the PAL GameCube can do RGB and composite, the NTSC can do S-video and composite. Also, as I recall the pinout on the A/V is a little different with the composite and 12v lines which is relevant as could fry your television if you look at the wrong pinout.

Yes, and for the same reason of cutting costs no doubt, some NTSC N64 consoles can be RGB modded however only some French and Australian PAL ones can and no other PAL ones can be RGB modded - in the chip you need to tap off, only green is connected, the circuits for red and blue were removed! So, UK can only get composite and S-video on their N64.

The store replaced the cable but the result was the same. I started suspect there is something wrong with the GC or the TV.
Then i found a good deal today. An official Nintendo RGB cable, boxed for 10 eur.
I have connected it to the TV with tremulous hands.
Then my jaw has dropped.
The image and the sound is excellent. Even better than the Dreamcast RGB. It is just perfect. I can't imagine what the component cable could add to the quality.
