Steam Summer Sale Achievements

Post by Duane Dibbley »

Is anyone else looking forward to the Steam summer sale mainly for the achievement hunt? I enjoyed seeing how many special achievements I could get during last year's summer and Christmas sales. It's also a good reason to try some of the more obscure games I picked up from the various Humble Bundles.
My games for sale: Racketboy, Amazon, eBay
My systems: NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube (Game Boy Player), Wii / Game & Watch: Ball, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP (x2), Nintendo DSi / Genesis (Sega CD, 32X), Saturn / Game Gear / PlayStation, PlayStation 2 / Xbox / Mac (Windows PC) / iPhone, iPad

I'm looking forward to the sale, but not because of the acheivements.

Yeah just you. Don't need achievements, just deals.

I think they're kind of fun, gives you some incentive to play the game after you've bought it. This way you don't fall into the classic Steam mentality of "oh I'll get it on sale now so I can play it.......someday".

I never have the time to really play along, so I always find these things a little frustrating because they are just out of reach. However, there's usually a few easy things I can swing and I've managed to get a free game or something out of it in the past. So, it's a little bit fun, but I don't get real into it.

Im the same as JT. But during the winter sale I had a nice coincidence happen: I bought a renegade ops 4 pack with all DLC. I was part of the bug where I got three extra copies of the base game (seven games copies total). Through the contests I ended up winning two more copies of the game (nine total). All this taught me was that steam REALLY wanted me to play Renegade Ops.
