A large part of the time was spent trying to find different people to fight against, it seemed like it was just us and about 3 other people playing, and we were trying to avoid certain cheapskates that we recognized.

Also, LAG! If you can fight someone without it, it is great. However, about 1 out of every 4 matches we played lagged so bad it was unplayable. We're talking 2-3 second delays between pressing buttons here. It felt like I was one of those kids that just presses buttons at an arcade cabinet while 'Please Insert Coin' flashes at the bottom of the screen - like I was just watching replay footage.
Well, hopefully as more people buy the game that first problem will get resolved. The second, well, that's disappointing. Sounds like the slapped some boilerplate net code in there instead of focusing on code specific to the frame timing needs of fighters.

Yeah, I have the DC version too. Funny thing was.. when I got this game I also had gotten SF3 3rd Strike at the same time - so I didnt know what a hidden gem Mark of the Wolves is. I did a search online on Youtube for some of videos on how it's played - amazing stuff. Seriously. Looks like I'll be playing this a lot more - Dreamcast that is!

Did the PS2 version of this game ever see a US release? I'd love to play it, but don't have a 360 or Dreamcast.

I played some MOTW (DC) earlier today. Love the game to death. Gato is such a bad ass character. But I kick the most ass with Terry.

necro-bump because this game rules and I want to talk about it.

I love how it went the SF3 route and got all these new and weird and interesting characters in the roster.

^Hotaru is my favorite to use now. She just comes naturally to me. I've always used Terry in Fatal Fury games, but Hotaru is awesome.

^Freeman is a serial killer. A serial killer dudes! So awesome.

^Bonne's cool too, but I haven't gotten good with her.

...anyway, I love when SNK games had sort of these standout games. Ones that are just so completely unique y'know? Like Neo Geo Battle Coliseum is. Or some of the Dream Match or Ultimate Match games, etc.

More and more as I dig through their game-ography, I'm finding myself become a bigger SNK fan. So let's talk about how awesome MotW is, and also discuss some of the other high points of SNK's many franchises eh?

I hate Bonnie, mostly because her voice samples are incredibly obnoxious. I agree that Hotaru is pretty cool. I also like Kushnood Butt. It's nice that they added him to give the game some of that kokugenryu action.

So how long until Noise sells all of his Sony stuff and invests in a Neo-Geo? :P

haha, I don't think it's really necessary seeing has the majority of NG stuff has been ported to DC, PS2, PS3, 360 etc. My only real conundrum with buying SNK stuff is this: it's a lot of fun collecting the various compilations and releases of fighting games, but then in many cases the PSN or XBLA ports are actually better because they have online play.
