Wow, Raizing makes some excellent stuff. Between Garegga and this, I'm hooked.

1st run of the day. I felt like I was on fire; then the Stage 4 Boss bitch-slapped me back to reality.

Man, that thing is a pain in the dick. My other runs paled to this one; maybe I'll play something else and come back to it.

This bastard is tough, but I'll get 'em. Doing better; consistently clearing each stage in the 800k to 1mil range.

I finally beat the Stage 4 Boss. I only died once at him, then wasted all of my lives stupidly in Stage 5 because it was my first time there

I think I'm gonna concentrate my efforts on this for now, then move onto Akai Katana later this week.
Oh, quick question: What is the difference between the original and Otokuyo?

Nice work. There is a trick to the stage 5 boss. He opens up on you with a set of turrets after you destroy the missile launchers. As soon as he does this, drop a bomb in the center. It will immediately knock him into his 3rd form. But yeah, the whole of stage 5 is a bitch. After the breeze that is stage 4 (compared to stage 3), stage 5 is madness. You really have to memorize stages 5 and 6 to get any further. Even then, the last half of stage 5 is downright bullet hell if the rank is where it should be (a couple of lives in stock and no continues used).foxhound1022 wrote:I finally beat the Stage 4 Boss. There are no gameplay differences between the original and Otokuyo releases. Otokuyo was kind of a greatest hits release. It fixed a language glitch when Soukyugurentai is played on non-Japanese systems and it included a demo for Battle Garegga.
I played a little Souky on Sunday morning, but I was just getting frustrated. My left hand has been bothering me lately (carpal tunnel) and I kept running into bullets or playing sluggish overall. Goddamned stage 3 boss makes me want to turn the game into a frisbee.

Yeah, Stage 5 is balls. I always end up using most of my bombs on the Stage 3 boss, 'cause if I don't the prick takes forever to die.
Oh, I found out if you lock-on, then bomb, it does a multiple aimed bomb attack, but only uses one from your stock. It doesn't seem very strong, though.
