kinda more complex than it needs to be i know... but its a apple house!
SO I'm trying to get action replay for xbox softmodding to run on windows vista via Parallels on my mac tower. It runs, but does not pick up the usb cable and memory card. Of the three collums on the action replay the online saves, pc database work... but my memory card never shows up. I've tried 2 different cards, and no dice.
The USB icon even pops up down in the toolbar so i know the computer is reading it. In the properties, it says that the usb mass storage device is working properly. When i go into the distrabution for usb devices in Parallels, I make windows handle all the new devices connected and specifically point it to that one. Still no dice.
I thought it might be Parallels so i poked around and found a lot of people wern't able to pick up usb devices. Found out i had the second to newest build and updated. Once i updated, it picked up my iphone for the first time, so i assume that whatever was broken got fixed?
Tried swapping to a new usb port, no dice.
I am running
mac osx 10.5.4 (the newest one)
action replay version 1.40 (newest one on their site)
Windows Vista Home Premium (up to date)
Parallels desktop 3.0 for mac build 5608 (june 9th 2008) (newest on their site)
frustrating because i have everything i need to start softmodding, but i simply can't drag and drop this one thing.
Any thoughts? Does it look like i need to hunt down a pc for an afternoon? I'm drowning over here, and any help would be great! Are there better alternatives to Parallels?
xbox softmod via Parallels on osx problems
for anyone that comes across this- it is absolutely a vista problem. I'm downloading XP now. My roommate has it on her mac, but the action replay software has proven more difficult to manage than i thought. Its kinda a nightmare trying to get it to run right, and i still couldn't plug and play with her computer.
got the splinter cell save to copy- but not the installer. ugh. Working on it more tonight
