Yeah, don't pick Garou over CVS2... I'm enjoying Garou a lot, but CVS2 is the better game.

Ninja Gaiden should be yr style. How much of it did you play?

Cthulhu doesn't count (for me) because it is in no way considered a classic game - it is only a year old. I may as well add Skyrim or the new Deus Ex to my list or something.

I don't remember how far I got in NG (I played the PS3 port) - several levels iirc. It felt vastly inferior to the Devil May Cry and God of War series to me (remember when you were considering those?!), so I got bored with it.

yeah well, whatever. I would have no problem with you playing either of those actually. Like I've said in the past, I really don't care if anyone plays classics, cult classics, or even infamously bad games for the Summer challange. And looking at many lists, I think that's the general feeling.

True, but it's tedious as hell.

I always liked the Barbarian. This game is on my list too. I played quite a bit back in the day but never finished it: it was technically my brother's game and my parents also limited my computer time. :? Do you have the Diablo Battle Chest? That's what I have, I'm going to continue with the expansion pack after the main game.

This game gets trashed a lot but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. And I know I'm in the extreme minority, but I liked it better than part II.

I really enjoy Phantasy Star III, and honestly it holds a special place in my nostaligia for me, as it was actually the first PS game that I played, then IV and finally II. Though PSIV was the only one in the series that I've actually beaten.

Anyway, just ran through Clockwork Knight this morning, it was a fun little platformer, there were spots where the controls felt a little loose, but since this game was a launch title for the Saturn, I'm willing to forgive it. I'm glad I decided to pick this up though, I hadn't played it since the old Saturn "bootleg" demo disc that was packaged with the system, but now I guess I'm going to have to try and hunt down the sequel.

Clockwork Knight
Jet Set Radio
Sonic Blast
Mischief Makers
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom (GBA)
Silent Hill 2 (360)
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Batman (NES)
Pokémon Colosseum

Ok, swapped OOT for CvS2EO. Gonna stick with Time Crisis for my light gun game.

That leaves options of:

-Gauntlet (NES port)
-Power Stone 1 and/or 2 (PSP port on Vita)
-Wing Commander (PC)

Of those, what do people suggest?

-Gauntlet (NES port) -- not a fan.
-Power Stone 1 and or 2 (PSP port on Vita) -- you already have a fighting game.
-Wing Commander (PC) -- never played it myself, but evil space cats? Sounds good.

cool. I tried it for like 5 mins, so just let me know whenever you end up grabbing it and I'll try to work on it around the same time you are.

Sounds good man. I just paid for a copy on ebay a moment ago, so it should be here in time for Spacebooger to join us as well!

Been playing some Super Ghouls n Ghosts today, and a little Zelda yesterday. I'm a little worried that I am now currently playing 4 of my Summer games at once, but I have valid reasons for starting each. Resi 4 is the game I'm trying to focus on, but my girlfriend wants to watch me play that one, and the time we have available to do so is limited. Grim Fandango was my back-up game, but lately I'm finding myself lacking in time for longer bursts of gaming, so Super Ghouls n Ghosts was started for a 'quick burst' game, as it's gonna take me some time to get practiced before I can even come close to beating the game - I still haven't seen the boss of level 3! Finally, Zelda has been started as my portable option for bus journeys to and from work, because I got bored of Pokémon Pinball for now, so I figured I'd make more marathon progress. I really do need to get Grim and Resi finished soon though, I'm worried they'll be started, but not finished.

On the subject of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, does anyone have any tips for taking down the Red Arremer? I can't figure it at all. If I stay near the ground he swoops into me, and if I jump and shoot, he flies up higher and dodges my attacks.

Dude...yes...

Sorry, I just don't dig the current Ninja Gaiden series. In its contemporary incarnation it is derivative and populated with boring stories and characters.
