Re: is the skeleton saturn an easy mod job?
came today good news even though the internet said the skeleton saturn wouldnt play metal slug (my favorite game) it does!!! not sure if it matters that the metal slug i have is the stand alone version not the one that came with a ram cart. but anyway heres a pic of the board can i just solder to the power supply and solder a to b or do i actually have to solder A to the 14th pin on the chip? that chip is small as hell im not sure if i could solder that.

You can probably just to A>B and the power.

On Japanese Saturns, you also need to solder to the chip (#14). That's just 2 wires/4 solder points. Not so bad. I'm pretty sure that's not even necessary on a US Saturn?
But yes, you have to do the full job. Just isolate pin 14 by putting some cardboard around it or something. Much easier that way.
