Why does everyone assume they won't make an XL version of the circle pad pro?
I didn't say they won't make one, I said that I think this revision has killed the peripheral. At the very least Nyko would make one if Nintendo chose to not.

For me personally I like it... I've been pondering grabbing a 3DS the past day or 2, and now the prices may go down even more.

I would imagine so. There's got to be at least a few people who are going to sell their original models for XLs.

Just read that the new XL will be less reflective and that the 3D-ishness works better on the bigger screen. Neat!

Definitely getting an XL. Are we only getting red/black and blue/black? I thought there was a solid black. I would prefer that. Actually, I would prefer white, but I know that isn't happening.

I think they announced solid black for the US as well. White seems to be only for Japan at the moment.

We didn't get the regular white 3DS either.

I could swear they announced solid black, but it isn't available for pre-order on GameStop.com or BestBuy.com

Amazon doesn't even have the XL listed yet.

I got to try it out the XL at the Nintendo Lounge a couple weeks ago. I had trouble focusing, even with the bigger screen. In playing Gold Mario 2, If you view it at just the right angle and distance, Mario does appear a little in front of the background. The blur affect of the background not worth it to me, I end up shutting it off to see all the platforms crystal clear.

Anybody else download Bomb Monkey, by Renegade Kid ($4.99)?

I really enjoyed this game. Even if you have a passing interest in puzzle games, it is worth exploring.

I wrote a review here if interested:

I just got to try out the 3DS today and I'm really disappointed. Apparently I'm one of those people that cannot see the 3d effect. I saw a phone that used the same technology about a year ago and couldn't see that either. I became worried after that, and now my fears have been realized. I have perfect vision and everything. Too bad :( .
