Hey everyone. I was hoping that someone with the expertise in creating backups to play on their sega saturn could help me with this problem. I finally found a modded saturn that works great and I want to play my import games on it (that I physically own) without having to resort to my Action Replay 4 in 1 cart. I looked through several of the tutorials on the site to find what programs the authors' recommended to the novice crowd but I am failing miserably at creating a backup of my games. I know the 3 big steps that I need to go through (rip the game onto my computer, convert the region to US, and then copy the image to a disc to play on my saturn) but I am having a really hard time getting all the programs to synch up or something.
I used this link:
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/hacks/ho ... re#bin-cue
from the site and used ImgBurn. The program seemed very easy to use and I tried to follow all the steps on the link but I think I messed up somewhere. I tried copying my game DoDonPachi and I created a Bin file with the game on my C drive. After that I tried to convert the region of the game using 2 different programs. 1 was the one that was recommended on the site, Saturn Region Patcher, and the other one was one that was provided to me by a guy online Saturn Country Code Converter. Both seemed really easy to use but this is where I started running into problems. When I tried to upload the Bin file on Saturn Region Patcher, it would say that access to the path of the file was denied. I have never had a problem with my stuff being restricted since this is my own computer that I am using and am the primary and only account on it. I tried moving the file to a different area to see if maybe the problem was where the file was located but the same message popped up again. I then tried the Saturn Country Code Converter and this time it would let me select the file and select which region I wanted to change the file to but then when I tried to process it, a message pops up and says that the SCCC has stopped responding... I am not sure which area I messed up on while I was doing this.
When I burned DoDonPachi the default file type was Bin, is this right? I am not sure where I am going wrong on this. I own the Action Replay cart which is fine but I am wanting to play the fan translations of Scenarios 2 and 3 of Shining Force and I can't use the Action Replay for that, so I really wanted to get this whole method down pat while I waited for my 2 games to come in.
If you could please help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I have followed this site for years and have learned so much from it and I figured this would be the best place on the internet to ask for help. I searched for other topics similar to this one but because of my error messages I figured it might be easier to post a new topic. I read the rules of the forum before I posted so hopefully I did all right, sorry if I didn't. Anyway, hope to hear back from someone soon. Thanks.
