There's a built in system transfer tool on the 3DS, it's somewhere under settings. Apparently it works pretty damn well, hopefully a sign of ease of transfer with the Wii U as well.hashiriya1 wrote:dsheinem wrote:How did Nintendo handle DSi>3DS transfer of virtual content?hashiriya1 wrote:I'm picking one up for sure for home use. My regular 3DS will be for travel. I wonder if I can re-download all of my ambassador games onto the XL.
I have no idea. I never downloaded any DSiWare so I can't test it. They did mention all WiiWare stuff can be transferred to the Wii U so hopefully they'll do the same for the XL.
That said, goddamn does this 3DS XL look rad! I picked up the Super Mario special edition DSi XL after using a launch phat DS for years, and it's amazing! Frankly, when I got the 3DS, I was a bit disappointed at the smaller screens, so this looks like it might be a worthy upgrade for me!
Now to wait for a price drop.

Maybe it's just me, but i play portables at home only, i dont do alot of traveling and if i did i would be the one driving, and when i goto my friends we dont do alot of gaming, more outdoor activities, i like to think of the 3DS XL as a console controller with built in screens!AznKhmerBoi wrote:Its nice to have a bigger screen, but i use my 3ds as a portable system where i can put it in my pocket. I highly doubt that'll fit into my pockets. Trying to maneuver the stylus in games like Kid Icarus Uprising is going to be a pain in the arse. It's hard enough trying to stay in the right zone for the 3D to work on the normal 3DS, a bigger screen will mean you'll have to put your face even further from it. People complain how games like KIU give the hand cramps if one hand is used on the touch screen and the other to hold the system... so they make it heavier? Yeah, I'm happy with my original.

Re: This new 3DS has to be a fake
So I heard about the new 3DS XL last night. Then I read a couple of articles online about it, and read people's comments about it (including here). Here are my immediate thoughts about it all:
1) I knew it. Seriously. I was not surprised AT ALL that Nintendo would come out with a modified version of the 3DS. I held off on an original 3DS for a reason. This is it. Anyone who is even remotely shocked that Nintendo would make a revision of a popular handheld, is probably living under a rock, or Rosie O'Donnell's ass.
2) Bigger screen and better battery life? Yeah that will help me towards wanting to buy one, or at least request one for Christmas. Hey Santa, you hear that? I want one you fat bastard. I'll leave cookies and beer near the chimney if you get me one.
3) No 2nd analog stick - I don't care. Yeah. Deal with it. The regular DS line went without "one" analog stick for 6 and a half years. Do we really need "two" all of a sudden? The Vita just barely got a 2nd analog stick, but that was because it had "one" analog stick for almost as long as Nintendo went through their DS line without "any".
4) People will never be satisfied. Seriously, like even as soon as last week people were like "OMG I wish Nintendo made a bigger better 3DS with this and that and have bigger screens and look nice, etc.", now that the big N announced it, people are now like "WTF, I can't believe it, it sucks, no 2nd analog stick, WAH WAH WAH". Whatever. At least Nintendo didn't put a rear touch panel on the 3DS.
5) I like the fact that 1) the 3DS XL is going to have a matte finish, as opposed to the original's glossy finish, and 2) The "buttons" on the bottom of the touchpad are going to be actual buttons and not some weird ass overlay.
6) I'm kinda surprised they changed nothing about the cameras on it.
So that's about it thus far. I really want to see this in stores and have a hands on approach with this thing so I can see if I actually like it as much as I want to. I never thought that the original 3DS was too small for me, but I definitely knew a bigger version was going to happen so yeah.

I don't know. But I do know it's going to be really hard for Nintendo to get me to buy a 3DS until they do. You can all continue apologizing for this design flaw but it doesn't change the reality for me.KDub wrote:I'm glad they didn't add one personally. Me too. I don't understand why any handheld devices have a glossy finish. They get so dirty with finger prints.5) I like the fact that 1) the 3DS XL is going to have a matte finish, as opposed to the original's glossy finish, and 2) The "buttons" on the bottom of the touchpad are going to be actual buttons and not some weird ass overlay.

I sure am glad I never went overboard on buying stuff on the 3DS Shop. :/
But yeah, not really digging the new colors. I might wait a little while before getting this.

You can do up to 5 system transfers.WallCrusher wrote:I sure am glad I never went overboard on buying stuff on the 3DS Shop. :/

I like the way the 3DSXL is shaping up.
...I just wish there was something in the 3DS library to warrant the normal 3DS I already have.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
