It's not like they don't trip up either... literally, TRIPPING! Let's hope that's not in this one.
The next installment of Smash Bros.
Re: The next installment of Smash Bros.
Nintendo keeps a firm grip on first party properties. I'm sure they'll still be heavily involved.

Here I was hoping they'd use Square Enix.

Not a fan of Smash Bros, I take it?Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Here I was hoping they'd use Square Enix.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

lol, imagine if Capcom was developing Smash Bros.MrPopo wrote:Capcom developed Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.BurningDoom wrote:But why? Nintendo is the best first-party developer, IMO and many other people's opinions. Why would they risk a drop in quality on such a fantastic series? I'm worried.
They wouldn't put Mario in the game, and they'd justify it by saying Luigi can do everything Mario can do but more. Then they'd sell you a costume for Luigi that makes him look exactly like Mario.
In all honesty, I probably wouldn't buy this game again if it were being solely made by Nintendo. Seeing Namco on board, they might actually try to make a solid multiplayer experience this time instead of making a solid single-player experience while intentionally sabotaging the multiplayer experience.

I like Smash Bros, but I wanted to beat up Link with a Valkyrie or maybe a Chocobo...and control it all with my Game Boy Advance. The storyline could be about three gods - Cosmos, Chaos and Freya - all stuck on a space station while Mario saves the world from a magic meteor during a time loop. It would be alright, huh?Flake wrote:Not a fan of Smash Bros, I take it?Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Here I was hoping they'd use Square Enix.

With all due respect, I have to disagree. Square Enix is just not the company it used to be. I would have little to no faith in them if they were developing Smash Bros. Even their own franchises have mostly been ruined these past ten years.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:I like Smash Bros, but I wanted to beat up Link with a Valkyrie or maybe a Chocobo...and control it all with my Game Boy Advance. Was Fortune Street developed by Square Enix? It's pretty fun.
Re: The next installment of Smash Bros.
Yeah, they did that and Mario Sports Mix. I would not hold the ability to get kitsch, basic games like that made semi-decently as evidence that Square could handle a game as high profile as a Smash Brothers title.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Was Fortune Street developed by Square Enix? It's pretty fun.

My only problem with this is the fact that the last Nintendo game Namco developed was Star Fox Assault...
