Congratulations on finishing off FF4 dshienem.

I did start Silent Hill 2 the other night. I got about as far as I have other times I've played the game in the past, just past the clock puzzle. Its mostly new material for me from here on.

Just for kicks I checked out parts of a speed run for the game. The guy completes it in 45 minutes, and he passed my hour plus of playtime in just about 7 minutes.

May I ask why? I've never known someone to dislike KH and I'm a huge fan. Just curious lol
Actually, it sounds like a lot of the same reasons Dsh was hating Final Fantasy. haha

There's a few minor spoilers along with an ending spoiler at the end of this rant. And it's really long so I'll cover it up. haha
I started Kingdom Hearts either last summer or the summer before (I don't really remember) and I remember immediately being frustrated with the controls. Something about not being able to roll in the beginning really bothered me, but what was worse and never went away was the lack of a free camera! That continued to be frustrating. And a lot of the gameplay just got really repetitive. I was constantly fighting the same enemies with the same one-button attacks. I got through most of it alright with these relatively minor complaints, but then somehow I managed to leave Hollow Bastion incorrectly and got COMPLETELY lost and had no idea what to do. I apparently skipped a cutscene somehow and I couldn't fly to Hollow Bastion from my map. That was when I gave up before and where I picked up this summer. After stumbling through the different worlds looking for the way back to Hollow Bastion for a few hours, I gave up and started looking at a guide. I had to find the navi-g or whatever it is all over again and watch a bunch of cutscenes over again. I finally got back to Hollow Bastion and had to re-figure out how to climb all the way back to the top. Once I finally got to the chapel (where I knew I was supposed to be) I couldn't figure out how to leave it to get anywhere important so I had to check that on the guide too. And lo and behold there was a hallway RIGHT behind the save point that I couldn't even see because it was so dark it just blended into the wall. So then I began the never-ending end segment of the game where I had to repeatedly kill the same heartless over and over again while trying to get to Ansem. And once I got there I had to kill him in like a gazillion different forms. URG! And I kept dying at one part because I would take an eternity to cast heal (another thing I hated about the general gameplay: there was no instant healing, I would die all the time while trying to heal) and when I hit continue it made me fight the previous version again too! So by the end I was just dying to find out how this mediocre storyline finished up, but the game just WOULD. NOT. END. But finally I beat everything and that ending cutscene came on... And I heard that song... and I watched as Sora and Kairi were reunit- wait. They're not reunited? That's not what I was expecting... This... This is so sad.... O no... What's gonna happen? What happens in Kingdom Hearts 2???
So yeah. Basically I really found a lot of little annoying things grating on me after a while but the ending really kinda made everything better for me.

In other news. I'm really enjoying Tomb Raider! It reminds me so much of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, which I absolutely loved. The controls definitely feel dated and I really wish it would play on my PS3 but I'm enjoying all the exploration.

I wondered that when I saw it on your list. My favourite SNES game, up there with Super Metroid.

it's gotta be in my Top 10 SNES games anyway. So great.

Played a bit more Vice City tonight. Failed the Riot mission twice.

It's so hot here, and I'm too sick to have a cold beer. :(

Why didn't they ever release a GBA port of Star Fox? Nintendo is so dumb sometimes.

So I decided to head off and tackle the Sylvan Cave in Final Fantasy IV before going to fetch the next crystal
and it was beating me thoroughly  Damn Evil Dreamer's are a pain in the @$$. I managed to make it out with the Red Fang, but after that I left, so I'll have to go back to find out what was in the other chests in that room :?

On the plus side, I've found a nice place to level-up the party. A little grinding should take care of those damned ghosts :D

The things that looked like trees were the real threat in that place. They cast berserk on their team, causding them to do silly damage that can OHKO weaker party members.

I noticed that...
...but I was taking them out with fire spells pretty early once I figured that out. Fighting the ghosts isn't necessarily hard, just tedious at the moment. Especially since Rydia and Edge currently have such low HP :?
