I'm not exactly excited, yet, but say Metal Gear and I'm there.

It this really a shock to anyone?

Reminds me of a thread I was in once where I complained about Hideo milking the franchise when he could be working on other things. Someone told me that I was wrong and that Hideo wasn't milking the franchise. I distinctly remember saying that I knew damn well MGS 4 wouldn't be the last MGS game and people argued with me like I was just trolling.

Well what do you know? Turns out I'm right yet again.

Well, hopefully he'll bring something new and fresh to the table. The series is really running into danger of over saturating itself.

Really wish we could get another Zone of the Enders game instead. Any news on if he'll every return to that series? Or do we have to wait until after he's finished making another ten MGS games

I'd agree that it seemed like MGS4 was a good cap to the series and I wish they would visit another IP like Snatcher or ZoE, but I will buy MGS5, just not terribly exciting as brunoafh said.

Dude chill out. You seriously bitch more than I do, which is saying something. A new game is coming out from an extremely popular franchise, that's how it works in any medium. There are game franchises that have been milked into oblivion for way longer and worse than MGS. There are game franchises with like 50+ games and yearly releases. There are like a dozen MGS games.

I'm in, for sure.

Though its so early at this point that the game is gonna be way off my radar for now. I'll start being excited when we're past the point of announcement and well into screenshots and information.

I can't complain about new stealth games. I try to play every game in stealth.

I would agree, I really enjoy the Assassin's Creed games for example, but it is getting ridiculous. I can't keep up with them, it's not just the time to play, it's the will to do so, so recently after buying a new one. MGS4 is already 4 years old and MGS5 isn't even out yet, I mean with the FOX engine we're likely looking at a PS4 or 720 release so MGS4 will be 5 or 6 years old at that point. I think that is long enough to revisit the series.

If the Boss/Cobra Unit rumor is true, then I might bite. Maybe.

I'll buy MGS5 but I would really like to see Kojima revisit Snatcher. It's such a classic gem 8)
