May I ask why? I've never known someone to dislike KH and I'm a huge fan. Just curious lolpumpkinpie65 wrote: I just beat Kingdom Hearts after much struggle. I hated the game all the way through the end when I suddenly...don't know what to think anymore.

(Any RPG) + (Your party has died (x5)) = Much more grinding to be done

Oh I know, doesn't mean I have to like itMichi wrote:^

I am at the place where most guides say I should be level-wise, so hopefully I can finish this up tonight
EDIT: Died again. Fuck this game. Nothing like an end-game grind-fest to suck out any enjoyment I was getting from the rest of it. I really don't see why people hold this entry in such high regard, the characters and story all seems quite average compared to many better 16-bit RPGs and to better games in the FF series as a whole, and it clearly has some poor balancing issues here at the end.

Well, there went all the motivation I had to play tonight
*Mental Note: Do a little extra grinding and a few side quests so not to end up as pissed off as dsheinem by the end of the game*

Still, I am not sure how much that plan will help - I have done all but I think 1 or 2 of the sidequests, neither of which would do much to help me with this final battle (I finally pulled out a guide late in the game, and discovered I had already stumbled on the majority of the optional quests). At one point I was ecstatic to think I could be done in about 18 hours (when I reached the final boss' liar), as the pacing felt just right and the story had held my attention in chunks throughout. Now, however, I am 23+ hours into the game, going nowhere, killing the same annoying yet easy monsters every time, and not having much fun. I also get to watch/press-X-through a 5-10 minute unskippable "cutscene" before the final boss battle every time. Hooray.

Oh, well, that's just....ick. I hate it when you can't skip those. I think after about a dozen times (or at least feeling like that) that'd piss me off too.dsheinem wrote:I also get to watch/press-X-through a 5-10 minute unskippable "cutscene" before the final boss battle every time. Hooray.
I'm still going to have to do some grinding myself though. Damn Edge and his unnecessarily low starting level.

Beat the first 5 levels of Rogue Squadron this week. I'm liking it so far, except for the fact that it's with a crappy N64 controller. There were a few times where I had to look up the controls but other than that, it's pretty fun.

If you don't like the N64 controller, the superior PC version supports joysticks.SwooshBear wrote:Beat the first 5 levels of Rogue Squadron this week. I don't have a joystick, or urge to buy one. I think that I'm just going to deal with it, since I have to for Ocarina of Time later.BoringSupreez wrote:If you don't like the N64 controller, the superior PC version supports joysticks.SwooshBear wrote:Beat the first 5 levels of Rogue Squadron this week.
