The best thing I can recommend is to stay active... keep moving around if you are doing shots.
If you are not doing shots drink bourbon on the rocks it's got a great taste (and tastes like alcohol) hits you hard but does not knock you out.

If at a bar I recommend rum&coke with numerous shots... don't forget the occasional water as well.

I live close, bout 30 mins away, im in campobello which is close to spartanburg and landrum. And thats not a bad idea I was going to go this year but didnt make it cause of gas.

I'd like to suggest freshly made fruit juice (orange, for example). It's cheaper, tastier, and it just happens to be alcohol free*! all of those are "pros", as far as I'm concerned).

* Don't let it ferment.

Ok real easy.

Rum Don Q cristal or Bacardi (I think i saw them selling them on target) and a natural grape juice and your good to go. We call that here in Puerto Rico "ñejo". Thats what we drink when you dont have a lot of money and I guarantee you, your gonna get drunk for less than $30.
