Speaking of Blade Runner, I notice it's hard to find it on Blu-Ray. I see it on VHS all the time locally, occasionally on DVD, rarely on HD-DVD, and not even once on Blu-Ray. What gives?

^ Now that you mention it, I haven't seen it in forever either. I bought the blu-ray for my dad a few Christmases ago. I think it was on sale at Best Buy. Haven't seen it in a store since though. Weird.

How the hell did this movie bomb? It's fantastic. I liked it as a kid, but damn... What a great movie. It's even got JGL in it! Disney had a real hot streak in the early aughts... Too bad they turned to pumping putrid shit out of all their orifices (save Pixar) almost immediately Treasure Planet came out.

Apparently the 5 disc version (which was selling for in the $10-$15 range for a while) has been discontinued in favor of this set with a tbd date:

GHOST RIDER:SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE

It is a movie.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN:VAMPIRE HUNTER

Totally wasn't what I was expecting. Expected a lot of camp, lots of laughs, but this movie takes itself too seriously. It is rarely fun or funny and the action sequences, although packed with gun-fu, are quite monotonous.

Not to say the movie lacks all appeal, but if you walk in the theater thinking you are about to see an hour and a half of laugh out loud intentional silliness, you'll be disappointed.

I don't want to say too much about this movie. It's best to watch without any expectations. I'll just say if you like monster movies or British films, it's worth your time. Good movie for fans of JJ's movie Super 8 or Cloverfield

WHAT!?

Dude, no way. I know we all have opinions but this film is nowhere NEAR Super8 or Cloverfield. It was 90 minutes of walking around.
The characters are completely shallow, .01 dimensional, and the 'monsters' are basically animals from another planet. It has some of the worst direction I've ever seen. Even Cloverfield with it's found footage motif has better direction. The movie spends about half of itself 'establishing' the characters. And those characters are established as "rich guys daughter that's dumb and douche that would love to pound her for another notch on his belt." The 2 or 3 times you see any of the monsters, especially the one scene where they are basically mating don't make up for the lack of literally anything in the film. Then there's the scene where it tries to crecendo into a moment that will 'reveal' a monster/alien, even with the pumping music. "dun dun dun... DUN DUN DUN!!! DUN DUN DUN!!!!!! - its a cow."

This movie sounds like one of those ideas that should be best left to like, a fake trailer on youtube or an SNL skit or something.

It's very Cowboys & Aliens-esque as in an idea so goofy, should be, well, goofy. AL:VH will have its share of fans, I'm just not one of them.

And....shit. Really hope this is just Jim asking for more money.
