What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

She's playing Deborah Harry (she's also in an awful sgea cd game, yay!) in CBGB, so there will probably be some skin in that one. But other than the fact the movie is getting made, I haven't followed it.

Dunno. I think CBGB is timeless, but all CBGB merchandise worn by kids who have never even been to the club turns me off. It's getting cult status for all the wrong reasons.

Considering it closed six years ago, it would be hard for people (especially the "kids" you are probably referring to) to get authentic gear these days at the club itself.

I wouldn't be surprised if CBGB t-shirts sold online in the million range each year.

Christ. That reminds me I had a Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt as a kid.

YES! This ^

While watching the film, I kept thinking, "This is what James Cameron was raving on and on about, with 3D being the future of cinema and all." It's a real nice additional tool for big-budget films. It was as if all of the potential shown off by Avatar had been fully realized by Prometheus.

If only I could somehow manage to see Argento's Dracula 3D and Herzog's 3D cave-drawing documentary; I'd be all set. 8)

You get it. Use 3D when it adds to something.

Marvel's Avengers in 3D adds nothing to the feel of the movie, as it doesn't need a boost. I know you guys don't agree with me, but besides the stupidity of the writing, the best thing about the movie is how gorgeous it looks.

Avatar uses 3D so much that it loses its charm at times. Prometheus has a few forced perspective shots that make shooting the movie in 3D worth it. You can see the false depth in tunnels, but it still looks like you are there, walking thru tunnels with the crew.

And then you're seeing a scientist treat a hissing alien like a gerbil, but still, it is a beautiful movie worth paying the extra two bucks if 3D doesn't give you a headache.

Wait, Avengers has stupid writing now?

Or maybe you just worded things wrong and meant to talk about Prometheus?
