I have to think anything with a 4p feature is going to emulate rather poorly, but not positive - it would seem to lend that way.

Completely forgot this Irem beaut!

Some all time favorites off the top of my head:

Golden Axe III (Genesis)
Guardian Heroes(Saturn)
Battle Circuit (no console port for this one is heart wrenching)
Tenchi wo Kurau II (Saturn)
Streets of Rage III (Genesis)
Battletoads & Double Dragon (SNES)
Maximum Carnage (Genesis)
Hokuto Musou (PS3)

Lots of others that I greatly enjoy but these ones still get regular play to this day.

I still play this one with a friend too, we've been playing this mother fucker since we were kids. We were able to beat it as kids, but can never even pass the freaking 4th level as adults!

You talking about Berserk: Guts' Rage? If so, you really oughta play the PS2 game.

Err, Battle Circuit...that is literally the only cps2 game I've gotten rid of. It paled next to the D & D games, King of Dragons, Knights of the Round...pretty clunky imo.

Because the PS2 game is everything the DC game is and more (same devs). If you're a fan of Berserk too, you'll freaking love it. Builds on the actual story from the manga, way better controls, better visuals obviously, has character customization, bigger move-set, higher difficulty, it's just better than the DC game in every way. That's not to say it isn't without it's flaws though. If the DC game (which I am a big fan of myself) is one of your all-time favorites, you just gotta check out the PS2 game.

Check out the opening, Susumu Hirasawa music.

Do you have a cab or supergun? I didn't know...

It pops up on neo and shmups every few weeks, about $110 range.

I haven't played many, but in no particular order:
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES)
Battletoads & Double Dragon (SNES)
Double Dragon (NES)
Streets of Rage (GEN)
X-Men (GEN)

Come to think of it, I think either SoR or TMNT is my favorite up here. I've been meaning to get into some more modern ones but I'm not sure where to start.

Oh, I should add, a seriously under-rated beat-em-up is Three Dirty Dwarves on Sega Saturn. With a multi-tap the game support 3 players and it is hilarious and amusing.

My favorites have always been the CPS2 Capcom arcade brawlers.

Specifically:

Alien vs. Predator
Armored Warriors
Both Dungeons and Dragons games
Knights of the Round

With a buddy or my girlfriend around I could play those games forever.
