Sweet thanks, that is why. They don't show up in the RPG search.
Are the two Ys 4's different from each other at all? If so, do you have an opinion on which is superior?
I have played Ys 3 on SNES, that's actually the only Ys title I've really played. I want to get them all though, they're fun.
Also do you know anything on the Magic Knight Rayearth and Popful Mail on Super Famicom? Were their Saturn/Sega CD equivalents the same games (just enhanced), or were they different tales?

I'm pretty sure that Popful Mail for Sega CD was an enhanced version of the SNES game.
Magic Knight Rayearth on the other hand, I'm pretty sure was a totally different game.

Yup. Popful Mail is on the PC98, PC Engine CD, Super Famicom, and Sega CD. The Sega CD is the best version, and the only one available in English. Unfortunately, that Sega CD version is also prohibitively expensive (at least for me), I'll probably just buy the Super Famicom version eventually.
Every Magic Knight Rayearth title is unique. The Super Famicom and Saturn games are the most well-known. There is a North American localization of the Saturn game but, again, it's very expensive (and like Popful Mail on Sega CD it was localized by Working Designs).
And yes, there are two completely different games called Ys IV - it's not simply two versions of the same game on different consoles. Most people (myself included) seem to prefer the PC Engine CD game over the Super Famicom one.

I think I hear that's kind of the case with Y's III as well? Cause to be honest, I really didn't care for what I played of the SNES game at all. But the PCE games look radically different and way more appealing from the things I've seen.

Nope, same game, but of course the PCE version is superior. I have both the Genesis and SNES versions, but I haven't gotten around to playing the SNES port yet.Xeogred wrote:I think I hear that's kind of the case with Y's III as well? Wow, even the Genesis version looks way better in comparison.
I'd say I think Y's I-II being a bit more overhead makes them look more appealing to me.

Same here, although I'm starting to come around to the side-scrolling view. Zelda II turned me off of it for a long time, but recently I've found Battle of Olympus to be quite enjoyable.Xeogred wrote:Wow, even the Genesis version looks way better in comparison.

Sweet thanks, didn't know the Magic Knight Rayearth titles were all a little different.
I liked the screenshot comparison of the three versions of Ys III. Wish there was a website that had that for all video games that are on multi-consoles just to help compare between them. Especially in the SNES/Genesis era games randomly looked better on one or the other.
Have any of you played Albert Odyssey 2 for Super Famicom? I've played the original on Saturn and it was great. Wondering if this one has any similar characters or anything from the original.

Actually, the Albert Odyssey game for the Saturn was "Albert Odyssey Gaiden" (side story) in Japan. So the Saturn game is the third in the series and is not a direct sequel to the first two; I'm pretty sure the first two are centered around a guy named Albert.KoLAddict wrote:Have any of you played Albert Odyssey 2 for Super Famicom? Ys III is probably the "worst" game in the series and the SNES version the weakest. The game was remade into The Oath in Felghana which uses the overhead view and is vastly superior.Xeogred wrote:Wow, even the Genesis version looks way better in comparison.
