Yes, since rape as a character development device is so worth it

Yes it is. I would also like to see those army fap fests like Call of Duty and Battlefield, show how common rape is in war. But no, glorified violence is ok, but if you put realism in my game and make me think, you make me sad.

Obviously the only explanation is videogames and it's totally true because....mmmm, someone said without any backing to it?

Basically, let me understand what the Tomb Raider thingy is about:
1) OMG, NOW SHE'S GOING TO COMPLAIN AND LOOK SAD
2) That will make you want to protect her, it won't be annoying!
3) Thanks to losing a best friend, being beaten up and almost raped you will understand women, because that only happens to them! Poor women. I saw one once and it was sad.
4) And when everything looks like it's getting better for the character, the director will step in and crush her with his feet! Drama! How artsy! I'm the best!
5) That's what the new Lara is about: Being the opposite of what people liked in the character! It will sell millions, I tell you!

Anyways, this is Hollywood thinking. Nothing new, sadly.

I do agree that it is forced drama, but I don't understand why people say it should be removed.

Dude, it's a dark "edgy" reboot

I'm surprised the trailers don't throw a phrase saying stuff like "nothing will be the same again"
