Where do you buy your games offline?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

They have an amazing video game selection and I've found some rare stuff there for cheap. LEt me see....Valkyrie Profile(complete) for 30, Suikoden(complete), Popful mail(missing back art) and SHining force CD(complete, mint) for 25 each, MUSHA(cart only) for 12....tons of genesis stuff for around 4- 6 bucks. Plus they give great trade credit for used games and they have an unconditional 7 day return. You don't like a game....play it for 7 days and bring it back for a full refund...not just store credit. Best rental system ever! I've heard good things about Play 'n Trade...but never been. I buy alot of Ps2 stuff at record stores...they always have stuff really cheap there.

hells ya for bookmans my brother deseret industries thrift stores are awesome too mike tysons punch out for like 3 or 5 I dont remember
I do a steady rotation through out the week of DI, Goodwill, Salvation Army and Bookmans. good stuff.

for PS2/PSP/GC stuff, i usually raid multiple gamestop/EB Games stores.

as far as dreamcast, saturn, PSX, etc., theres an old used game store in town ("Game Hits") that i've been going to for about a decade. They only carry used stuff but the selection is usually decent and theres almost always some cool import stuff there for DC, PSX, and/or Saturn. they're the ones who got me into the import scene back in the day and drove me to region mod some consoles.

funny enough i hate buying games online, i'd rather purchase them at a brick and mortar store. When it comes down to it, I'll raid ebay, but very very rarely do I actually purchase games themselves online. Accessories and such, thats a different story, I don't mind ordering those.

Only games I really buy in the store are modern ones. Not really much around here for old games (aside from PS1). Usually the local Gamestop or sometimes EBGames for latest PC and domestic consoles games.

I buy at Gamestop, they are the only ones with a quality selection of games nowadays. My local Al's(Music/Movies/games) has tons of video games, older and newer, but all are overpriced, even by eBay standards. I only check them out every few months, and only buy if the game is on my list...

well my room mate works at gamestop in seattle so shes always on the lookout for rarer games in good condition. I do gamestop store lookups and go to gamestops within 30 miles of seattle hunting for stuff.

then theres Pink Godzilla games which is a Import/ Retro store in the international district of Seattle, i recommend everyone check it out (its online also but with alot smaller inventory)

and of coarse thrift stores like goodwill, value village, and half price books.

The only places I ever buy games offline are at Thrift Stores, Goodwills and Garage Sales.

Usually Gamestop or EB, in my area usually one or the other has what I'm looking for. The EB tends to have harder to find titles for some reason(like Shin Megami Tensei or Dynasty Warriors games). I prefer the Gamestop though, the employees at the EB are just a little too mellow, while the people at my local Gamestop are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about gaming. There's one girl there who is more of a gaming freak than I am(she's not my type though unfortunately).

I tend to have good luck at whatever place I go. I brought back a used game at a local Blockbuster once that had a scratch and some performance issues. The girl checked all the other used discs they had until she found a damn near mint condition one to give me.

There was a Pawn shop by the Steamtown Mall I used to go to when I lived in PA. I don't know if it's still open, but I got some nice, cheap little gems there like a complete copy of Gunstar Heroes and a Chrono Trigger cartridge(which I later traded in like a moron). I have to try and track down some pawn shops around where I live now.

Gamestop sucks, but I occasionally go there. Target has a pretty good selection and some sweet clearance. I go to Goodwill and Salvation Army for older titles.

I hate Gamestop, they really screw the game industry. The way they filter what they will carry based upon pre-order demand really bothers me. I couldn't stand it when I went looking for a middle of the road release and they wouldn't have it. Their response, "well we don't really carry games people don't pre-order at this locaion" Talk about screwing over a publisher/developer and never giving them a chance. Its crap like this that makes it harder and harder for companies to release unique genre's that don't sell 1 million copies day one.

I go to Fred Meyer for new releases. Like a true retailer they stock almost everything their distributor offers. Its amazing a national video game specialty chain often carries less new releases than a department store. Don't get me started about their used game policies!
