Nice score! My best ever score was someone who was moving in 2 days and piled stuff on the items I was there to pick up as well.Nyne wrote:I found a Sega Saturn with cords, a Dreamcast with 2 controllers, 1 VMU, Crazy Taxi, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Dead Or Alive (plus a few more I don't remember), a Sega Genesis with 5 controllers, Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles, and Eternal Champions at a yard sale.
All of it was for one price. Free. The things you can get when people are closing down their sales because people weren't buying anything.

Heh, thanks. I'm looking to sell much of it to buy a decent graphics tablet, though. I've gotten my fun out of them. Except the Saturn. No controllers

Not that I'm helping... but seeing a post publicly calling someone out is as annoying, give or take, as seeing the other off-topic stuff.dsheinem wrote:I've been up and down the PM route with CRTGAMER before on a variety of issues (when I was a mod and after) all to no avail. Calling him out in public (for example about cross-posting and endless promoting) seems to be much more effective (and has culled those behaviors, I've noticed). I thought by doing it in a semi-comic way it would lighten the mood of the "reprimand" and if he had any sense of humor he'd get the point and adjust accordingly.dunpeal2064 wrote:Fucking PM someone if there is an issue with their post, don't mock them in the thread. It only makes things worse.
So yes, let's move on and let's keep the thread about finds related to video games...but let's not turn this little fracas into a bigger thing than it needs to be. We should continue to self-moderate as a community as often as possible without annoying the mods with any and every little thing (which this clearly was).
As for anyone saying that someone should back off if they are having a bad deal in life currently (and I know this is not exactly what I said, but the idea was there), sometimes posting on some internet forums where you don't have to talk about your problems is a good way to chill out. Sure, that person might come across harsh or annoying, but give them a break. You don't know if they are going through something horrible in their real life or not. As for me, I've gone through a couple moves, a marital separation, a still on-going legal battle for custody of my kiddie, financial problems which largely stem from this, and trying to find a decent job that goes with my kid's schedule... not to mention other things surrounding this.
On topic:
One of my buddies over at PCEngineFX just sent me a really sweet custom back label, insert, obi and stickers for my "boot" of Sapphire. Note the "do not eBay" sign on it.

DC4ever, I want TJ&E 3. I have never come across it before. How is it?

Went to the thrift store today hoping for a new mystery novel. No Raymond Chandler to be found, but I got a compilation of 75 detective stories from American and British writers. I'll probably be reading the hardboiled ones. I also got two Frederic Chopin tapes and a pristine, complete copy of Baldur's Gate II.
It all came to $5.00 exactly. I'm a lucky man.

I don't know about you, but when that person bashes you through PMs over a couple of light-hearted jokes, you tend not to want to give them any more breaks.Breetai wrote:Sure, that person might come across harsh or annoying, but give them a break.

I can beat that. I purchase every paperback book from every yardsale I go to, generally for a buck or so total. I then go to my favorite bookstore, which sells exclusively used books for half off, and grants 1/4 the full price for paperbacks in credit. I don't pay for my books anymore

Yeah, that's too far. But I won't ask who and it's not my business anyway (I'm sure you just said a few pages ago, but I don't feel like checking).YoshiEgg25 wrote:I don't know about you, but when that person bashes you through PMs over a couple of light-hearted jokes, you tend not to want to give them any more breaks.Breetai wrote:Sure, that person might come across harsh or annoying, but give them a break.
While not a regular "look what I found", here is something special;
I just "found" out how to get Earthbound on a Sega Genesis. I'm pretty sure it only works on a model 1 HDG non-TMSS with a 32X attached and at least 3 Game Genies. It might be possible that 2 SNES Genies and 1 Genny Genie might also work:
